Local store has a 2k tourney coming up and I wanted to test drive a knight I kit-bashed using the Forgefiend guns left over from my mauler and some leftover dreadnought flamers, hows it look?, I havn't used large blobs of Space marines before but I think with Abby walking alongside it will prove effective with sheer weight of fire, went with Slaanesh for majority because honestly the stratagem is amazing.

Hey there a few points about your list:

1. Chaos Space marines are not really a great troop choice nor should be used in blobs for for the following reasons.

First putting them into big blobs centralizes your fire base to the point that your opponent can get the maximum benefit from their high rate of fire weapons (Ex: One Avenger Gatling cannon would be capable of its full damage threshold and could severely cripple your marines) and at that size leadership would be a significant problem.

Secondly cult specific space marines are so much better with noise marines with the slaanesh stratagem can put out far more shots than regular ones, and Plague marines are at least far more durable with access to better weapons.

Thirdly, and funnily enough, chaos cultists are more efficient at shooting (Source see Chaos Cultists:https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000/Tactics/Chaos_Space_Marines(8E)) thus a unit of 40 would be a lot better and a lot cheaper than CSM and with tide of traitors you can immediately refill an almost dead squad to full strength making them a pain to remove even with high output of fire weapons

If you really want to use your CSM I would suggest taking out the mauler fiend as well as your two armigers to take havocs and obliterators as you really need an anti-vehicle fire base to deal with more mechanized list and I recommend a different load out of knight such as thermal cannon and stormspear to help with Armour as with your CSM can handle hordes

2. You have very little anti-vehicle weaponry outside of CC. Two thermal spears will not kill most heavyset vehicles such as knights and Leman Russes and you will struggle to the point of not being able to deal with those vehicles.

I suggest taking out the mauler fiend and replacing your CSM with cultists as you already have strong melee capability with your knights and perhaps taking some obliterates and havocs of slaanesh so that you have some truly terrifying firepower to pretty much against all units in the game

MSU bikers with plasma guns can be a good choice too for character character, elite and objective hunting and combo well with the slaanesh stratagems

Another option could be to take a fully kitted out terminator squad of slaanesh with combi-plasmas and deep strike with Abbaddon to make a truly fearsom bomb that can take out key units at the beginning of your second turn.

Other than the CSM blobs the list seems solid enough for a locals, and if your meta is very different feel free to do what you need to do.

I like it. Feels a bit more thematic - I can imagine a big group of heretic Black Legion marines following Abaddon. Feels like he wouldn’t be wasting his time fluff wise with a load of cultists- those civilians are beneath his time and effort.

Also feel like although they are not mega powerful on their own, a big blob of dudes with veterans of long war and prescience plus firing twice will definitely do some damage. Plus with Abaddon they are immune to moral I think?

Agree on the terminators idea- he was captain of the 1st Whig I think was a terminator group, so makes sense for him to have he hardest most kitted up terminator guys with him. Maybe 5x all with meltas for some mega teleportingand blasting action. Would help to have a terminator sorcerer with death hex and prescience too.
