Has anyone ever heard of this relic tank before or have any ideas as to how to represent it with a suitable proxy model?

http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Valdor_Tank_Hunter

According to this article it is based on the chassis of a Malcador (a Forge World model) but none of the Malcador patterns have a main weapon that resembles that of the Valdor. I'm trying to build a list around the limited lore of the Iron Warriors' warband, the Steel Brethren, and supposedly they helped steal a bunch of these tanks for the dark mechanicus. I think it would be cool to include one.

Scratch build. Plans easily found online.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Ah yes, somehow I missed that the first time I looked.

Followup question, do 40K rules exist or does it only exist in 30K? If it's only 30K, would there be a suitable rule set from a 40K tank to substitute?

40k rules are in "Index: Imperial Armour – Index: Forces of the Astra Militarum".

I have one myself and it's actually pretty decent. It's a 20-wound Russ. The cannon gets 2D3 S14 shots, which against vehicles are 2D6 pick the highest for damage, and in addtion, vehicles wounded by it are -1 to hit for the next turn. I've used it against Necrons before and it crippled a Tesseract Vault, as he couldn't make full use of all his Tesla shots.

Also, something rather sneaky is that it explodes on 2+, making it a great last-resort suicide bomb.

Some will come on here and say "Well a Shadowsword is only (x)points more", but the Valdor is a great vehicle with plenty of character.

How many points is a Valdor? I don't have the Forge World index and there is no entry for the Valdor that I can find in Battlescribe (I might not be looking in the right place though).

I'm sure there are more points efficient models out there, like the Shadowsword, but as you say, for me its about the character. I want this to be a fluffy list more than anything.

Just under 400 if you give it a Lascannon.
