I just got an ad for the Paladin 3D SLA printer. The site purports they have a 50µm XY resolution. It's an extremely cheap printer, cheaper even than the AnyCubic DLP printer.

BUT... before I dump any money into a possibly cheap piece of garbage, has anyone heard about this thing? Are there any reviews out there? My google-fu isn't coming up with anything and that actually worries me a little.

What other 3d printers do you know are heading to market in 2019?

It was in one of my many FB adverts I get. Let me see if I can find it again.

I believe it's $299 at the moment. They say it's a "launch price" but I've no idea how long it will be that way. The web site says $149 off retail so I assume after the launch it will be $349 or so.

I'm concerned because I'm not seeing a lot of positive buzz around it. Heck, I'm not seeing much of ANY buzz around it. :/

I found their FB group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/317958742126032/permalink/320773035177936/
Not really much there. Answers are sort of vague. Not a good sign.

Yea, they want a $10 to reserve a big discount. They get your address and CC info. I'm not saying it's a scam but it's odd as hell given how kickstarters work.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Yeeeeah, I've not seen anything about that, can't find anything about the folks making it, and it's not really a "launch price" so much as a "sign up and we'll tell you when we launch our KS so you can get an early bird" price.

Looks pretty comparable to a Photon, but the big questions are; who are these folk, and how close to a final product are they? As it stands, I'd just wait for the Photon to go on discount again over on Aliex, seems to happen fairly often, or wait until the nigh-inevitable Creality clones of Prusa's new resin machine. EDIT: Oh they want a fee to register? Scam. 100% a scam.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Seems a lot of effort to scam so little from so few. Still, I'm not about to enter my CC info into their personal web form. Too many red flags for me. I guess I'll wait to see if/when the Photon goes on sale.

Technically a DLP SLA printer isn't a complicated machine. At $300 it could have a cheaper LCD screen that may not last as long. Also light leak from the box could be an issue (not an uncommon issue with a Photon as well) everything else is just a plate attacked to a screw rod that's in a motor that controls how much it moves up or down.

Since Photons can be bought on ebay just wait for another 15-20% coupon and then they'll be around $380 or less.
