I'd get an HQ choice, I believe you don't get a single one with all those box sets - a Deffkilla Wartrike and Weirdboy would be my choice to start your first battalion out right. if you have two grot squads, build up your Boyz until you have a full 30, and then I'd say you're good for 1k games until you get the hang of it.
So, Battalion
Deffkilla
Weirdboy
Gretchin
Gretchin
30x boyz
6x bikers
Shokkjump
Boosta-Blasta
Deffdread? (I forget what comes in SC)
That'd be where I'd aim to be. Then I'd get a bonebreaka for your nobz+painboy.

Depends on what kind of list you want to build. Evil Sunz is definitely the more competitive choice, since the extra movement is always active and almost always useful since your boys will rarely standing still. Evil Sunz can die tellyporta lists very well, which usually comprises of a unit of 3 deff dreads and either boys or meganobz teleporting T2, followed by support from another boys squad courtesy of the jump psychic power from a weird boy. You can also do a mechanized list comprised of bonebreaka battlewagons supported by a deffkilla wartime. Right now I'd suggest a Warboss on Bike (you can convert one off the warbiker kit if you cant afford the FW model) or a deffkilla wartrike to be your HQ choice, as well as a Weirdboy. Ork boys are also another solid choice to start with.

Don't. Not at least to begin with. They are not that good and top of that pretty much require support to be any use so they wouldn't be good idea to start off. You need something to destroy units first before them.
And of course even then they aren't that hot. But without support they are super bad.

They're great, best out of a trukk or wagon as you say, I see Badrukk as pretty meh (because you don't want to get the gits out of the transport to use his aura) though you could always think of him as a Kustom Mega Kannon that pays 28 points for character protection, a 3+ armor save, a reroll to hit, klan kultur and an HQ slot. So that's not too bad.

Don't forget that Evil Sunz allow you to ignore the assault weapon penalty when advancing as well. Considering how something like 90% of ork ranged weapons are assault, that's pretty useful.

If you're a fan of both kulturs, feel free to take two separate detachments of each so you can have the best of both worlds. The recent Ork FAQ actually helps out Flash Gitz a fair bit, because gretchin units like Mek Gunz, even though they don't benefit from the Freebootas Klan Kulutr, still counts towards the competitive streak as far as killing units goes. So if your Freeboota Smasha Gun kills a transport, all other Freebootas within 24" get +1 to hit that phase. So you may want to combo them together to give your Flash Gitz some much needed extra BS. As far as transports go, I would say trukks, simply because you won't ever really use the battlewagon's combat capabilities.

Yeah, I would say Evil Sunz and Deathskullz are probably the best detachments for monobuild, because of how much utility and synergy they provide. You just need to build the army right. If you are using a lot of infantry, transports and light vehicles that really want to get close, and have a lot of assault weapons, Sunz are best. If you are using slower, heavier vehicles that are going to draw a lot of fire, elite infantry, offensive orientated Big Meks, and hard hitting weapons, Deathskulls are best You would think that Freebootas are a good standalone army due to the mek gunz buff, but after doing a bit of calculating they don't actually hit that much compared to the Bad Moons. Badmoons with their rerolls give a 63% chance to hit. With the +1 to hit buff Freebootas have a 50% chance to hit. Now, where Freebootas do shine is if you take Flash Gitz, as they don't benefit from Bad Moons but they do benefit from Freebootas. So instead 50% accuracy they now have 63% accuracy, with a 17% chance of doing it all again. So if you are taking Flash Gitz, go Freebootas. If not, just go Bad Moons. Or anything else, really. Or...not. Apparently my math is wrong and badmoons only have a 45% chance to hit. In which case Freebootas are better.

I'm going to repeat some of the advice I agree with and add a couple other thoughts:
- Get HQs: Wartrike, Weirdboy (can kitbash or use AoS if you prefer), Warboss (on foot or bike - would require a kitbash or use FW option) are all great options and can work with most lists.
- Avoid Flashgitz (IF you are concerned with table top performance and ignoring the fact they look cool and have cool fluff etc). They are really sub-optimal imo. The combination of short range, heavy weapons and relative fragility is hard for them to overcome.
- BWs / Bonecrunchers could work well with your intention to Evil Sunz +1 move +1 advance +1charge gets them in the enemy face fast! Can also carry your Boyz, Nobz, Warboss (if you dont get the trike version)
-Smasha (or KMK), the smasha is arguably our best Dakka even though it doesn't directly benefit from Freeboota culture it has been FAQ'd that their kill can trigger for other units. Even without this Kulture interaction they are great Dakka.
- Personally I LOVE the idea of using Tellyporta strat on (up to because you can deploy a unit of 3 then they move independently) 3 x CC focused Dreads! You already have 1 from SC but could get another. Combining them with high Toughness Evil Sunz BWs would make for lots of fun

Swap gitbones for killa klaw. It's strictly the best relic., and with a +3 on your first and most important cast from the weirdboy, your odds of failing are minuscule anyway. Otherwise, great list to get started with orks!
