Hey so I used to play 40k back in 5th edition.

I've got a sizeable collection of old Orks but I'm thinking of doing a chaos daemons army to get back in.

I've currently got a heap of blood letters and a couple of bloodthirsters from age of Sigmar. Do you guys think it would be a decent start to a daemons list if I grab wrath and rapture + a nurgle start collecting and a tzeentch start collecting?

Thanks.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Maybe... It depends what you want from Daemons; you could do a Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle list but you get bonuses for going mono-god.

Buy what you think'd be cool (as always, rule of cool trumps being a top tier army list) but you might want to check out the Daemons tactica on the 40k Tactics part of the forum for more opinions and take a look at the 1d4chan 8E tactica for Daemons (a lot of people don't like 1d4chan but the tactica pages always go over every unit in the army plus all the warlord traits, relics, stratagems, etc. and what their pros and cons are. Don't take what they say as gospel but it's a very easy way of getting a good view of an army and some tactics)

Cool, thanks for the tip. I didn't realise that sticking to one God gave me extra benefits.

For some reason I thought all chaos daemons were considered one faction.

I might stick to khorne for now seeing as I have some already.

Do you know if there is anywhere to get the points free like scrollbuilder for age of Sigmar?

Battlescribe gives you points and rules.

You can mix factions just fine, you just have to isolate each god into their own detachments. You can run a detachment of Khorne and a Detachment of Nurgle in the same army and keep your buffs.

Ohhhh right. Ok, I've just started reading the core book and chapter approved so I have a rough idea of what detachments are.

I guess I better get a copy of the codex too.

Thanks to everyone for the information.

Aren't demon lists made up of Demon princes and nurglings, with Magnus or Mortarion added?

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.
