That moment when you are talking to some one who doesn't play about orks and you talk about Nobz and they think its a Freudian slip lol Would have been funnier if I was talking about Mega Nobz.

Realizing a Necon Tesla destructor has the same range as a lasguns or a bolter.
Tesla destructor.
Bolter.

Yes it's fastr than a foot soldier, but still, look at the guns and realize they have the same range!!!
One funny mement I remember form 3e days was seeing a space marine character with a displacer field displace into the middle of a brood of genestealers...

Knights in general have funky 'armor', its essentially extremely directional and any half-proficient heavy weapon user should easily be able to disable the Knight's joint mechanisms if they get to shoot from the right angle.
Meanwhile all-around-armored tanks are generally made of paper and knights are considerably more durable than them while having far less actual armor
But this is common cliche in science fiction in general: Mech-type walkers with delicate joint mechanisms widely exposed blasting through conventional tanks while the tanks can barely harm them at all, because they are so durable. In reality intelligent highly durable 'mechs' or humanoid robots are highly unlikely as the actually sufficiently armored mechanical joint would be make these robots extremely heavy. Of course we see videos of these boston dynamics robots doing crazy feats but they are already carrying extremely heavy power packs with no armor and could very easily be disabled with a normal handgun. I mean assuming the metal is normal, anyone can go look youtube videos where assault rifles go through or seriously dent armor grade metal sheets, but apparently with nimble robots we will develop some extremely light weight magic armor metal that is impenetrable by conventional kinetic weapons.

Knights are protected by coolium shielding!

I like to think GW gave them cash-armor.

A funny 40k moment was when I got this in the mail.
Man was it ever tasty...

realising the Deathstrike Ballistic Missile has a range such that the firing unit would be within the likely blast range if it had the sort of warhead it has in the fluff.
seriously nice model though.
then you see models able to run in a turn further than they shoot, "men, attack that unit!", "but sir they are out of range!", "well.. don't just sit there, charge them then!"
Realizing that the average pistol has no chance whatsoever to hit a target more than 13 yards away, but is just as accurate right at 13 yards as it is at one or two.

could be worse, could be a Soviet rifleman from Team Yankee, who upon arriving by Mil-24D Hind helicopter realises his assault rifle cannot shoot from near the tail rotor to near the front of the thing

Realizing that a space-worthy fighter jet with entirely fixed forward "dog-fighter" style weapons travelling as supersonic speeds can merrily fire at targets that it didn't get remotely close to overflying. In multiple directions. All of which are behind it.

Always thought the old scatter dice mechanic was amusing, when you could fire a tank shell and have it land behind you (the earlier editions that capped scatter at half the distance you fired avoided this), or when you managed to shoot around a corner.
or when you fire at a squad of ten models, nine of whom are out of sight, and the only one you can see is the sole survivor
or a necron being killed and coming back as a poxwalker, before resurrecting himself, and presumably the two having a moment that is best described as "awkward"

when did a necron become a poxwalker?

When the Death Guard player uses the strategem such that when the poxwlaker unit kills a necron they gain a poxwalker, meant to represent zombies biting people and infecting them.
the Davy Crockett was a fun toy wasn't it? but it was hardly an absurdly large ballistic missile, just an absurdly large artillery piece (which would actually be way more fitting in 40k)
I liked the pic of the bolter being included, reminded me of how Viz illustrate articles

Its gets even absurder when the slain necron gets reanimated, and is set up again.
I once had someone miss with their custodes captain. That was a wild night.
I also once had a trukk explode and kill 8 of the lootas inside.
I also had someone get extremely salty when I moved my Rhino up, shot the combi plasma, killed my rhino, bailed out the Zerkers inside and then decimate his T'au Gunline.

Why'd he have Lootas in a trukk...

I had them in a Trukk, pre-codex, in a vain attempt to try and protect them and maybe move and fire them. Of course my opponent was playing Eldar so it was a moot point since I couldn't hit them anyway.

OOOHHH!!! I thought you meant the necron became a poxwalker as it ressurecfed. This is kina weird, what if the necrons ressurect on a subsequent turn?

Yeah wouldn't of thought it would work out, their BS is bad enough, I could imagine wanting to plop them on an objective but you could do much better with Flash gitz as they have a better BS and the range is more suited for moving down the board. I normally take at least 15 lootas stick them on an objective with a Mek with Kustom force field in my deployment and have at the enemy from long range, might as well use our limited long range doing what it does best. Plus you can stick a few Mek guns beside them to share in the kustom force field.

Killing a Land Raider that exploded wiping out two squads of space marines nearby. Then luring the terminators who bailed out into close combat with Blight haulers, playing the auto explode stratagem three times.
