It would be awesome if there was a little instant live chat box some where, it would bring the community closer together. And then we can build a huge building, then eventually all move in to it so we can live with each other as well. ( I don't know what country though )

Does DakkaDakka have a Discord? There are widgets or whatever their called that do that I think and discord has chat plus voice... though then the mods would have to moderate those things and that sounds like work XD

Nah, that would be too messy with too many voices IMO. I think a instant chat would be cool, watch live dakkas chattin bwt about gak n gak. But a little LIVE CHAT BOX in some area of THIS website would be neat.

Unlocking features with post count encourages people to spam post to get their post count up, so that doesn't really work.

I think there was an unofficial Discord channel at some point, although that may have just been associated with the Dakka Minecraft server.

But having somethin glinked to the site causes all sorts of potential issues, so is unlikely to happen.

Who said any thing about having what they say in instant chat box should be counted as a post. There are heaps of forums with little live chat box's for registered users.

I know where there are a few unused Walmart stores. Though I would think that would create a "Cuttlefish" situation.

We could always take over some abandoned oil rig and create our own micronation that will only be recognized by some crazy guy in Germany who thinks his tiny patch of farmland is an independent country

They likely would be... but there's still all those spam posts to be cleaned up afterwards, and all those threads derailed by it along the way.
