I'm looking to create a 1600 to 2000pt Nids army that will mainly go against deathguard with a canis rex knight and occasionally a Tau army.
The units I have so far are a Mawloc, red terror 20 termigaunts, a unit of hive/tyrant guards. I also have a maleceptor and tervigon kit on the way. How should I complete the list to be competitive against these two types of armies but mainly the death guard? Please help a noob out! Also I tend to play very aggressively.

Quick suggestion, If you go up against shooty armies, it would be better to use Kraken as your Hive Fleet, take several large broods of Genestealers, and get a T1 charge. If you worry about screens, you may also take a large brood of Devilgants and maybe some hiveguards, make use of the shoot twice stratagem then the screen would be no more. After that nothing short of an IK level unit could survive the 80 rending attacks of the Genestealers

Well, if you love aggressive play then I'd suggest looking at Hive Fleet Kraken, and a Brood or two of Genestealers x20 sized Broods generally work best. Winged Hive Tyrants with MRC(Monsterous Rending Claws) and a gun (Usually Brain leeches) are good TAC units as well.

I also Really like Hormagaunts a Big Brood of them can lock up enemy units, or grab objectives like crazy.

So after reading through these forums I decided to buy some venomthropes. I'm unsure of if I should use the maleceptor as a maleceptor or a toxicrene. Also not sure on the tervigon should it be a tervigon or tyrannofex? Will absolutely be adding some genestealers.

unfortunately genestealer spam blows hard againgst Tau. Their overwatch can kill and entire 20 man squad of stealers fairly consistently.


Againgst tau, you want nidzilla. Either kraken for speed if using carnifex spam, or leviathan for the 6+++.

Pic up a gsc primus, abdominant and a box or two of abberants. Give them hammers and send them at the night turn 1. Its a great knight counter.

Other than that you want a flyrant with crushing claws. Or 2 to 3 exocrines.
