So it’s been a while since I have actually done a proper PM blog. I’ve decided to build the XXth, XVIIIth, and VIth Legions so I thought I would role them into one thread.

Alpha Legion is up first. I found a really nice metallic blue that works pretty well I think. So the army is going to be based on The Coils if the Hydra RoW.

Next will be the Salamanders. These guys are going to be an Armored Breakthrough army. I think the Legion rules go well with vehicles. But then again I’ve never played and have a basic rules understanding. Either way, it’s gonna rock. And I’m getting a super heavy.

Then the Wolves. It’s gonna be almost all infantry with air support. Based on the Space Wolves RoW’s.

So, what I’ve got so far.......

So, 1st Tactical Squad is done as is the Rhino. I think it was a mistake to put the banner on the back of the Rhino. It worked out well when I did Iron warriors and Blood Angels. But these banners are too lightly colored. But they look great. In fact this whole Alpha Legion transfer sheet is beautiful.

I finished up a Heavy Support Squad for the RoW options, just need bases. Also second Tactical Squad is based up.

The chrome color with the desert base is a great combination!

So, the heavy support squad is done. I’ll explain my build for this army in a bit, basically I’m going to use the Fruits of Treason rule to mold the army into one of heavy firepower or rapid close combat. A couple interchangeable units should do the trick. Obviously the Lascannon guys will be part of the firepower build.

Also got half of the second Tactical squad pretty close to done.

Coming along nicely.

Time to start saving $$$, might want to buy the AL.

So, the Contemptor. This thing is awesome. I have built a number of Contemptors, but this is the first resin FW one. I realized the others have all been the plastic from BaC. This one is far cooler. I even managed to magnetize the arms, one shooty version, and one punchy. It was surprisingly easy. Some pics, right side up I hope.

I like my BaC contemptor, but it is a little stiff and plain. Not that I’ve ever worked with FW resin to compare, but from the blogs I follow, those kits look like a huge amount of detail and personality.

Yeah, Nevlon, those BaC Contemptors are nice. No complaints at all. But those FW models are great. You can pretty much adjust every joint on the thing.

So, some more WIPs. These are the first 5 Weapon Master Veterans. I had some left over arms from a bunch of EC Palatine Blades and they look really cool on regular plastics. It will end up being a squad of these guys and a squad of plasma vets.

So I switched Dynat’s hammer hand to make it look a little more ready. Also did a quick kit bash of a Saboteur.

Ok, got some paint on some models. Not feeling the green on the Contemptor hydra, may try a different technique. Got a bunch of bases done too. Bases wear me out.

Well I have completed the Alpha Legion and have learned I am really really bad at maintaining a PM blog. I’ve started the VI Legion and will just post them on the showcase forum if anyone is interested. It will probably be a while. In the meantime, thanks to everyone who stopped by or left a comment.
