Hey guys,

Thought I would say hi before I make any other posts. I have been into 40k for 15 years on and off, pretty much just the painting and creation with some terrain bits of the side. Its been a huge outlet for me creatively and i'm big into to sci-fi aspect of 40k.

I'm looking to start getting into actually playing some 40k this year, I haven't played any games since I was teenager so very rusty haha, I'm based in greenwich so hoping theres lots of people around. I will doubtless be asking for advice on where and how to meet people to start playing 40k and advice on sorting out my slapdash army.

I'm currently collecting imperial fists and just starting a tau army. Iv pretty much just bought stuff that I think looks cool and fits whatever I feel like painting, my plan is to actually make a semi legal army at some point that I can play with haha.

Look forward to meeting some new peeps,

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Welcome to the Dakka forums, at one point I used to want to paint units and play against people in real life, but since I can't really afford that hobby I just went with Dawn of War instead. Hope you have fun with what you're doing, win many battles!

Hi and welcome to Dakka.

before go into games maybe you want to see some battlereports and learn about the rules and tactics.

I suggest you Tabletop Tactics and Winters Seo.

Enjoy your next step into the Hobby.

Escalation leagues are a great way to get into competitive w40k. Check your local shops. As im on the east coast of the US I probably can't help you much more than that. Check in with your local hobby shops. W40k is pretty popular, especially since 8th ed released and theres probably one in the works near you.

If you've not come across it already, you're not a million miles away from Dark Sphere. I'd definitely check them out for potential gaming buddies. And cheaper models and supplies.

My sister-in-law and her family are in Greenwich, lovely place. I've yet to convince any of them to play Warhammer though, so it doesn't do you any good...
