Subject: Super Fantasy Brawl, Mythic Games, coming Q1 2020
(this should be right at the start of it, but if it doesn't work its about 1hr 50mins)
sounds very much like Mythic are going to be looking to take on shadespire with a competitive arena brawl thing, bigger scale than traditional minis (looks 40-50mm to me)

I am amazed at how Mythic has still yet to make a game that I'm actually willing to buy. I'm a sucker for KSers and yet nothing. I did back a part Mythic game I guess with Mythic Battles as it was one of those crazy mini value games and the core box alone is a grate trove of D&D minis. Bit Monolith did a lot of work on it too.
Hel could be cool, unless the Solomon Kane it but with the Infinity KSer later this year and, hopefully, Trudavang this summer not sure if the budget would even allow for it.

I'm amazed at how much cred they get even though no games (solely) produced by them have actually hit the market. Shiny syndrome is still as strong as ever.

Blame the distributors. Asmodee would only buy Conan for $37 per copy, causing Monolith to lose money. With Mythic formerly working with Monolith, I'm assuming Mythic's run into the same problems.
The Mythic Battles (and Conan) miniatures were *great*, rivaling CMON. Still, more dice-chucking, and Gloomhaven's firing everyone around here.
BoW videos have way too much fluff, so will wait until something's written down about the mechanics. Eh, I have too many generic fantasy miniatures, anyway.
EDIT: Original post was for Monolith.

My point has nothing to do with distributors. Their backers don't even have their games yet, and they're already hyping up at least 2 upcoming projects? They've made millions of dollars and no one has any of their games yet. Mythic is decidedly NOT Monolith, who have delivered (or are currently delivering) projects numbering twice as many as Mythic's overall total projects. And I'm not counting MB: P for Mythic since each company's track record after that project seems to indicate which of the two is likely more responsible for its delivery. I don't think Mythic is bad or unreliable.....I just don't get why people keep jumping on the hype train and seemingly not considering what to me looks like a glaring flag. I guess we're all different, and YMMV, etc.
(Oh, and as a recovered BoW fanboi I totally agree on the over-hyping...a big reason I stopped visiting the site...interestingly Mythic's frontman was one of BoW's biggest shills which also turns me away from them).

Yeah, I'm not sure Mythic will be able to deliver on their current projects. The Solomon Kane pledge manager just opened up again and will remain open until October 2019. Solomon Kane funded in July 2018 and they are still making major changes to gameplay. I think Solomon Kane will be a bit of a millstone around their necks.
On the other hand, it looks like they are nearing fulfillment on Joan of Arc...
It is also funny to me how every game company feels the need to do some sort of sports game.

Oh, I see! Thanks and good to know. I'll look more closely at Mythic next time they have a KS I'm interested in (like Hel).
I haven't backed Mythic since Mythic Battles, which was delivered successfully. I certainly hope they don't crash like ND/Super Dungeon and MGC/Myth did!

Really? I had to change my "no Kickstarters ever" policy to "no Kickstarters ever, except Joan of Arc".
Turns out I'm a liar. I had backed JoA for $1 and thought I ended up not getting anything but looks like I did get the core set and the dragon.

They do have a LOT of games out. CMoN level and they weren't involved with the manufacturing and distribution of Mythic Battles (Monolith did that) but so far JoA has run pretty smoothly -- though I think it's a little late.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I know there's a 40 pound box of Joan of Arc waiting in my living room for when I get home, so they are definitely making progress on the shipping aspect.
Outside of Solomon Kane, I can't think of any other outstanding games they've got.
Monolith has just as much outstanding stuff but people seem to be giving them a fair shake.
For some reason the style of the models remind me of stuff Prodos/ Archon has produced for Load.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

They have Solomon Kane and Reichbusters.
It is worth noting that they just recently reopened the pledge manager for Solomon Kane until October of 2019, which puts it at a minimum 6 months late, but likely even later.

They intend to get the game on shipping containers before Chinese New Year, so it should start arriving around April 2020. That's about 9 months late, or 3 months late by Kickstarter standards, or two years early by Dark Souls Kickstarter standards.

That's because Monolith has delivered 5 (6 if you could second claustrophobia) KSers and Mythic still has 3 outstanding with 0 done as Joan has a second wave delivering in the fall/winter. Seams like they'll deliver all but still, understandable that people are a bit wary.
Didn't realize this was such a short KSer, doesn't look like there are any stretch goals either. Not anything against Mythic but has any new miniature game that's been kickstarted outside of Guildball gone on to have a competitive scene like they're taking about trying to set up here? They wanted to do that with Mythic Battles but stores didn't want to carry that game due to the size/cost of the core so it makes sense for them do so something more scaled back here but it seams like Steamforged got lucky with being a good competitive game around the time that Privateer and GW were struggling in that area and had a cleaver take on the sports game that didn't have any competition outside of dreadball. This seams like it will be late to the party with this area skirmish game type that already have some strong entrenched players.

Tempting to buy in, but it just isn't my style game. Price is good and I must assume that the minis will be great since I got my Joan of Arc stuff the other week and was completely blown away by the quality of the minis in that one
Alpharius wrote: Is there an actual League of Legends tabletop game?
Technically, yes. Mechs vs. Minions is made by Riot and is based on League of Legends.
It's not actually a port of the video game, and plays quite different.
Not a huge fan of the art style, reminds me of blizzards cartoony chunky world of warcraft style, which I never really cared for. But the gameplay being entirely card driven does interest me.
