As it says in the title, was wondering if I took the master of possession would you take issue with it at a friendly/fluffy tournament? He's pretty much flying already or would I have to tear his awesome backpack off :(

Nope, infact that's a pretty cool idea. I'd support it wholly, he's already flying so why not?

Add some wings in the style of possessed? With magnets? So you could switch it up?

He can absolutely sub as a sorcerer.

In a casual game I wouldn't care, but you might want to either replace the backpack with a jump pack or add daemon wings just so it's clear what he's equipped with.

That being said, WYSIWYG isn't a rule anymore so...

Eh, not replacing the backpack is definitely lazy. I think you should replace it for sure if you're doing a tournament. I would not be impressed if someone just picked up a non-jump pack model and moved it 12" over a terrain feature, etc.

That would definitely be "not cool" in my book.

Majority seem to feel the same way for me by the looks of it. I've run some well painted thematic armies in the past and my new red Corsairs army will be no different. It's not out of laziness, but rather than wanting to tarnish a beautiful model that is already flying pretty much. Think I'll add some gargoyle wings to convince the sceptics out there..just to be sure

There might be issues/confusion if you have a flying sorcerer AND a genuine Master of Possession, and both are the same model on the table (and possibly the same paint job).

In those cases, it'd be on you to avoid confusion. (e.g. "boom! my sorcerer casts Death Hex!" ... "But I thought that was your Master of Possession" ... "No, that MoP model was my sorcerer, my MoP is that other Master of Possession over there...")
