The useful answer being - the rules don't cover the use of proxies, so it's something that would depend on you and your opponent, or the
TO in the case of organised play. For the most part, people won't care so long as your proxy isn't confusing. ie: any rotor cannons in your army are being used as the same weapon, and the proxy isn't something wildly inappropriate.
