I just got into Warhammer 40k and started my first army, the Genestealer Cult. With Warhammer 40k being an expensive hobby, I want to minimize my spending on models. So, I went ahead and created a 2,000 point army list with BattleScribe to use as a guideline on which models to buy. I'm looking to get a critique on my list. I'm not looking to create a be-all and end-all list, but a decent one.

The general idea behind my army is to flood the board with my troops and use them to capture objectives. While I have the Abominant, Aberrants and Atalan Jackels ambush the opponent's backline. Then the Leman Russ to combat heavy support units. I took the two Cult Scout Sentinels to really fill out 2,000 points, but also potently do something with their Scout Vehicle ability.

Some simple suggestions:

Rocksaws are generally the best heavy melee weapon for acolytes. You can easily split the sawblades and add one to another heavy weapon to make two. If you add an extra sawblade from a chainsword or ork choppa you can make three rocksaws from a single box.

You might want to add upp some of your acolytes into bigger units. That gives you more value for the stratagems that let you ambush better.

Leman Russes are _much_ better if you can take them as Astra Militarum tank commanders.
