Was initially going to be for the monthly painting competition last month but I wasn't able to finish him in time.

Went my own way on the paint scheme. Lots of stippling used for the skin to suggest of hair over flesh. Flesh wanted it to look monstrous and not human. So rough and weathered. Also I wanted the spike to look like mutations so angry reds and purples were added to where ever the spikes were poking through.. or on the tail where they had yet to erupt through the flesh the flesh was made an angry red.

The leather was also stippled.

Used some contrast paints in the process. Some of them are just undeniably useful as spot washes in regular painting (since they don't migrate like thinner washes do)... the gold for instance was spot shaded with Darkoath Flesh. The leather was shaded with Snakebite Leather (for both leather colors.. the tan and the brown).

Overall I am happy with the results.
