FINALLY!!!
With "only" 10 months delay, I proudly present definitely the best up-to-date battle report.
Wood Elves are chasing lone survivor of the Druchii sorcerers' triumvirate, whose fate after defeat in Athel Loren is not to be envy.
This is 2250 points per side Warhammer Fantasy Battle 6th Edition battle report with TONS of photos and fantastic fluff.
I hope you will enjoy reading it!

The sight of these wonderfully painted armies makes my wanting to fetch my Dark Elves and start playing right away!

Your resumee was stating exactly what I had thought while reading the report - Why didn't the Wood Elves player charge the Cold One Knights with one of his Treemen?? Why did the Manticore Lord fly behind the Glade Guard, with that huge HIT ME sign on it?

Fantastic report overall.

Too bad a lot was decided by the stupid fear + outnumber = Auto Break- mechanic.
And of course, the list of the Wood Elves was quite maxed out with 2 Treemen and the ridiculously strong Strangleroots attack, ASB with hail of arrows... Just a pain to play against that. Compared to the fluffy nice Dark Elves list with a Manticore and Black Guard!

Well, this "fluffy" DE list is my nightmare. Read the previous battle reports of our armies fighting against - each of our challenges is really tied.

Maybe I am a bit biased as the list you're playing looks quite similar to the lists a friend of mine used to play back in the days. I usually played O&G back then, but a friend of mine played Dark Elves. And he slaughtered him most of the times, having just no good recipe except for very shooty lists.

The big difference to your list is that he didn't play any Wild riders, he picked more War Dancers (mostly 2 units), buffed with a lord character if I remember correctly.

I also had in mind that the Treeman has a magic ability to move woods - or was that a special character? Or a lord choice of Treeman? Long ago since I played 6th edition. Still, I would play it enthuisastically if someone was up for it. Best Warhammer package GW ever released.

Is that mat from Urban Mats? I think I have the double sided version of that. Great battle rep, lovey models and terrain as well.

Awesome report, the Wardancers landing a killing blow on the Lord was quite an epic moment!

Also, yes, Treeman have a bound spell that casts the tree-singing thing once per turn (treelords have it x2).

Yes, that is Urban Mats. I have plenty of them right now and they are awesome.

Wardancers landing a killing blow

Yes, this was really epic one. Just like 7 glade guards killing bolt thrower crew with a single salvo on a long distance.
