In regards to Space Wolves in Kill Team:

Are Blood Claws usable? They're 'troops' for Space Wolves but I didn't see them mentioned in the core book other than coming up with 'names'.

And how about Space Wolves Scouts... I guess those I'd have to use with the 'elite' expansion?

Disclaimer: Not looking for tactics-related answers... just wondering if it would be a legal 'list' if I were to use Blood Claws.

EDIT: requested mod to move. Sorry!

Oh so Blood Claws aren't legal to use?

Edit: I can't tell if you're saying ' no' as in they're illegal or 'no' as in you 'don't prefer them'.

In short, no. Blood Claws do not have a data sheet in Kill Team.

The core rules of Kill Team make absolutely no distinction between chapters to the point you could have ran a mix of differently painted marines with no issue. The only units allowed were: Tacticals, Scouts, Intercessors and Reivers.

With the Elites expansion the first founding chapters and Black Templars have Chapter Tactics but almost no distinction in made between Codex compliant and non-Codex complaint chapters. Elites adds Company Vets, Sternguard Vets and Vanguard Vets. Space Wolves and Dark Angels have a few exceptions in gear options but no special chapter unit data sheets.

Kill Team generally allows Troop options, but not every troop option is allowed. I mean outside White Dwarf Daemons and Kroot don't have Kill Team rules. The Chaos Space Marine data sheet is still limited to Heavy Bolter and/or Flamer, Melta or Plasma despite having a brand new model kit with more options that loyalist space marines had since the beginning of Kill Team. In many ways, Kill Team is a mess.

The game is still perfectly functional (and quite fun in my opinion) as it is with many of seemingly arbitrary limitations. As Niiani wrote, your best bet is to pick a data sheet that best matches the Space Wolf unit you want to use and play them as such. Conversely, you can always ask your gaming group to bend the rules to make use of Blood Claws mildly converted to Kill Team. I would suggest using the Elites war gear prices since they tend to be a little more expensive.

This answers my question. Thanks! Definitely going to utilized Reivers.

Wolf scouts can use the veteran profile and that's perfectly appropriate.

Blood claws can use the vanguard veteran profile. Not ideal because they shouldn't be veterans but functional.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind when I try out 'elites'. Still have to learn the base game. I've also been considering 'Sword Brethren'... will probably put the Van Vet profile for them too.
