I just hope they allow adding them to Custodes armies at least, and all Imperium armies (a la assassins) at best.

I might have missed it, but who exactly was thinking GW was going to discontinue/ stop supporting a plastic kit they released just a few years ago?

Is this an Index article like the Blood Ravens (with rules, strats, etc) or an Index article like the Dark Angels (fluff and a special narrative mission)?

Edit: That's a wonderful akward family portrait there. They should do a similar one of the Emperor and Primarchs

Agreed. A simple ability for any SISTERS of SILENCE unit to be taking in a CUSTODES detachment without breaking CUSTODES Faction abilities would be sufficient.
Giving ALL Custodes, Sisters, Assassins and Inquisitorial units and IMPERIAL AGENTS keyword would be even better, but I doubt it will happen since it's only Matched play that prevents them from being in the same detachment anyway

I simply do not understand why GW is so hell-bent on making the Inquisition oriented units so impossible to use, even with the armies they're supposed to be commonly attached to.

Each faction of imperial Warlord should have an "Imperial Agents Rating" that is the number of Imperial Agents units they can include in their army outside of a detachment without breaking Battleforged status. Making an Inquisitor your warlord gives you an unlimited number.

Pros: Soup! Cons: Don't contribute to CP.

(And while you're at it, you could do similar things for Chaos with "Disciples and Familiars" and "Mercenaries and Scum" for the Xenos armies allowing them to bring units like Court of the Archon members, Kabalite Warriors, Scourges, Rangers, Kroot and Freebootas.)

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

There is a lot of units they could have from other places to fill out there little faction. May even be cool to see them extend the role they have internally with some.

And they could just have a HQ made from the main box easy enough, so i hope its more than Just a bunch of rules to add to other army.

I think it wasn't that people were expecting GW to discontinue the model, but rather that since its an army of 1 model pack GW might have wrapped them up into another army. So for example they'd visually fit ideally into Custodes or female wise into Sisters of Battle. Ergo keep the model, just wrap it into another army rather than bloating the SM range even more with another full army. Baring in mind that their rhino and landraider are regular models just painted Gold in colour.

Well if the SoS are getting rules of the quality provided for Blood Ravens and Ynnari I'm sure they will be fine....

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Its Dakka...you don't have to look far.

besides, is it that far a leap? people are already predicting the imminant demise of old Marines, and the MK 3 kit was put out at the same time

With old marines it's probable that they're going to be dropped.
Mehreens have gotten so many new kits it's bonkers to think they'll keep the old ones still stocked.

Maybe maybe not but the point is the basic MK3 tac squad box is still very new. Chances are some of the old stuff will go direct to order (it already is in fact. if you want a land raider you gotta direct order one) but they'll proably not get ridda it. Marine stuff still sells quite well. apparently old marines are still outselling a lot of other factions

Got any hard stats on that outselling aspect?
If its "outselling daemonhunters" I wouldn't be surprised.

I feel like they have a bigger part to play in Psychic Awakening than almost any other faction. I imagine this articles is designed to lay a solid foundation that they will then spice with new content when their PA book drops.

SoS are Scola Psykana keyword, which means they can roll with Primaris, Wyrdvanes, Astropaths or the new Blackstone psyker. That always seemed weird to me, because they would torment everyone else on their team with their mere presence, but that's the way GW put it together.

That's a faction that's going to be getting huge attention once this PA thing stops being just an eldar issue.

nothing more solid then something mentioned in a convo with my local GW manager, we got talking about primaris vs old Marines and he commented that old Marines still outsell a number of other armies in the range.

That's probably instore stats. I know for me it's hardly ever worth walking into a store to purchase xenos things, as it's all generally out of stock or selection is limited.
Ordering online is where its at.

Yes, its an incredibly far leap...

You're literally looking at an article for an Index to update Sisters of Silence.

Old marines saw tons of updates in the supplements and while people clamor to talk about all the Primaris (remember Vulkan hasn't yet crossed over) they're ignoring people taking old marines who will scale further with bonuses. Could old marines go away? Sure. If people stop buying them. So, its really up to your self-fulfilling prophecies.
