So I havent played in a long while but looking to get back in and am trying to see what i need to flush out a viable army. I played Iron Hands, so there is obviously a lot different now.

I have:

"Normal SM"
35 tactical [10 mark 3 nos / 10 mark 4 nos]
5 devastators [missle unfortunately]
10 assault marines [jet packs
3 razorback/rhino
1 predator
3 centurions [nos]
10 termies
3 Dreads [AOBR]
1 iron clad
1 Venerable Dread
1 relic contemptor dread
[bunch of bits for some customization, gun, hammers, storm shields]

Primaris

Basically the SM half of dark imperium, so...
1 Capt
2 Lts
1 Ancient
10 Intercessors
3 Inceptor
2 hellblaster

What would everyone suggest that i need to expand/tweak this force into something that works currently? I definitely plan on getting the new iron father but dont know what else to focus on. I have the DG half of DI and some SoS that i will eventually trade, but have no idea what things to look for to make my army relevant.

Thanks for any/all help
[if this isnt the right form for this please let me know, ididnt think itd fit in the army list one]

What's your goal for the army? Space Marines have historically been the simple "training wheels" army. Kinda good all-around. Iron Hands takes that to a whole new level. Even built and played poorly they'll perform very well in anything outside of a tournament. If you're playing for fun...buy whatever you want. Iron Hands are strong, borderline stupidly so. Almost any unit in the codex will be worthwhile.

If you're going tournament style...that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

Mainly fun for now but maybe competitive eventually, the last time I REALLY played was prob 15 years ago. I play a very little bit a couple years ago but that was last edition.

Lol 100% serious, Ive seen some of those threads, but I also dont have 200$ to just rando drop on 3 Repulsor Executioners. Im just looking for opinions on what 2 or 3 things could make the random models i have in to a coherent list.

Possibly bits order or buy a Venerable Dreadnought box to make the AOBR Dreadnought have different weapons.

I'm basically pulling a bunch of old used 6 Dreadnoughts together - and adding Devastators. I'd just run a captain, convert up a tech marine or buy Ferrios and use your vanilla marines as troops/support. You can run a fairly vanilla list if you have heavier guns on your Dreads

I'd get some dreads and tanks. the repulsor tank (or better yet repulsor executioner) is very good with iron hands.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
