Hey y'all! I slipped on my projects last month... but hey it happens.
In the middle of reorganizing life stuff... will at least try to get something built this month though.
How about you folks? Anything big? little? You gonna put your hat in for Painting Challenge Round 57 November 2019: Heroes and Villains?

I've been on a blitz the past few months, with the goal of finishing up several of my army projects so that I can enter 2020 with a clean plate (that is, no armies that are WIP) (last month I 100% finished my AoS Nighthaunt, and the month before that my Adeptus Titanicus).
So my goal for this month is to finish my Necrons (I'm probably a week away from finishing my 3 DDAs, and then I have a Tomb Sentinel, Cryptek, and Overlord to paint).
I'm also going to paint up Bane for the Heroes and Villains challenge this month, and then I have his crew to finish up as well between now and December.
The only army projects I intend to have for 2020 are AoS Ossiarch Bonereapers, and Infinity Combined. I'll inject some display pieces and on-offs every now and again for breaks, experimenting, and just to shake things up.

My goal is to finish my orks. I don't think it will happen because I know with holidays incoming I will have no free time on the weekends. But as is, my entire army has a base coat down and every individual model is at least 70% painted. Its just detailing each one into a finished unit...also, Batman GCC just keeps giving me dirty looks! All npc's are finished, and 80% of heroes are done. Villains, I have all the big guys done, but the little figures are primed and waiting.

I want to get my Razorwing finished. It's nearly there. I've got a bit more to do on the base, I need to do the missiles, and I need to finish cleaning up round the canopy. I had to fill in some gaps after the canopy wouldn't fit flush, so I have some green stuff to smooth down and then re-paint.
Doesn't sound like a lot - but I'm trying to be realistic about how much painting time I actually get!

Both, simultaneously. My goal is to do something - ANYTHING - hobby-related. Paint even a single model. Build a unit. I don't much care what, I just need to get my feet wet, again. The trick will be finding all of my hobby gear, scattered around the house in various storage boxes, organizing it (even roughly or only in part), then actually sitting down to work... while tending to a 3 month old who seems less than fond of sleeping peacefully for any appreciable time, other than overnight when I also need to. I don't know how Dakka dads manage to get anything done - even if we hadn't moved and I still had my old work area already set up, I doubt I'd have been any less unproductive since his birth. Of course, I probably should've taken these five minutes to clear some space on my desk toward that end, instead of posting here... Update (11/7): This thread actually provided the extra bit of impetus I apparently needed - took three days, but I managed to clear off the desk, find most of my paints (which largely appear to have survived the heat of a summer move to South Carolina and a year and a half of storage - they'll take one hell of a mix, but they didn't get baked solid, as I had feared they might), and start setting up. I still need to find and gather some more of my tools. In starting to organize my paints, though, I discovered that the drawers I had hoped to use are about 1/4" too short to hold Vallejo-sized dropper bottles. Tragedy! I hadn't expected to store anything of craft paint bottle size or taller on end, but my Daler-Rowney inks and Vallejo ( et al) droppers? One (of two) drawers is only a third full, now, as is a quarter of the surface of the desk with what won't fit. I'd just lower the drawers and ignore the gap, but it's a stamped steel workbench with the guide rails riveted into place. I could likely grind/drill them out, shift the holes, and use low-profile bolts with cut-down shanks, but that'd be quite an undertaking... What's that you say? Just turn those bottles on their side? That sounds comparatively inefficient, but still far better than cluttering up my work space. Oh? Everything but the three largest jars nests so perfectly that even rapidly moving the drawer in and out barely shifts the contents around? Well, that's downright serendipitous. Having received such a sign from the hobby gods, I guess I'll have to move forward with locating tools, now. Should be able to get a good, working arrangement sorted out between the pegboard, the other drawer, and the magnetic strips I already installed. If anyone who already posted goals starts to meet them and revisits this thread, I'd encourage you to update with your progress. The whole point is for it to be motivational, isn't it?

Nothing for the challenge, busy sorting out my Dark Eldar Scheme for the Obsidian Rose (pinkish purpler/meganta edition) by settling down technique for mass speed painting with washes and contrasts and standard paints and techniques. All that's left is to settle on the gun scheme and then it's off to the races.

Get closer to finishing my Knight Styrix...before I get bored and do something else instead.
It's got to the "fiddly bits" where I try to paint edges, touch up mistakes, do the shading and swear a lot as I make more mistakes.

Ive actually been painting stuff so that's all good...Next is a lot of infantry grind for me sadly... I want to do some tournaments after new year so Need to get that dual battalions 24 Storm guardians 10 guardians with platform 15 Dire Avengers (10 already built and primed) I don't think I will finish all of them this month but hope they will all be built and primed at the very least with at least one squad fully painted up to my standard. Will be entering Guardians into Painting challenge because they are all heroes for charging at various horrors of the galaxy with a 12" gun..

My partner and I now have a table full of miniatures to paint. >1000 pts for each, of Flesh-Eater Courts for me, and Idoneth Deepkin for him. He won't be doing any conversions, just builds straight out of the box, but very ambitious basing and paintjob. I on the other hand will be kitbashing and converting lots and then going for a more conservative traditional look with regular skin tones and reds, and grass bases. I hope that both of us will start plogs on here to show our progress and keep us on track.

I've been on a huge Warhammer 40k binge the last couple months, and I've also got a few Gundam kits that I started awhile ago and never finished. I also have a closet full of Gundam kits that I haven't started yet. I also threw my hat in the ring for November's contest this month, painting up Adrax Agatone.
