Just a quick request.
Does anyone have any source on what the pot belly plates on the Plaque Marines are supposed to be? Overall they seem to be wearing Mark 3, but the plates seem alien. Mortarion's own modifications?
Also... isn't that guy with the ridiculous brain bone spurt ( ) wearing something akin to Mark 8?
Ignore the helmets, I didn't assemble them myself.

These are highly modified pre hersey suits. Modified by chaos artificers, and more than likely dark mechanicus. Then futher corrupted by deamonic influence

Oozing Plague Marine Terminator

Their Cataphractii Terminator/ Blightlord Terminators mixes parts of the loyalist Indomitus pattern shoulders and arms, presumed from salvage job repairs.

It could be a mix of scavanged armor and it's own new pattern developped in the Eye of Terror. Innovation isn't a sin for the Dark Mechanicus

They are like huge wrestling championship belts. All chaos champions used to wear such belts.

Did you read the Night Lords Omnibus? Chaos Marines generally don't have access to "new" pieces of Power Armour so them wearing a Mk hodgepodge armour of scavenged Parts is pretty common.

The enlarged stomach plates are probably a response to the fact that many plague marines become bloated and huge often bursting through their own power armour.
Also, Chaos Marines scavenge for whatever parts they can find. It's very rare to see a Chaos Marine with fully intact power armour.

AoS is pure garbage
Kill Primaris, Kill the Primarchs. They don't belong in 40K
40K is fantasy in space, not sci-fi |

Also helps cover up the otherwise weakly armoured abdomen. Just don't ask them to bend over!
