CPs after purchases: 12

Concept:
I ran mono-knights for quite some time, and there are simple too many punchy lists out there, so I need to protect them more (screen with CSM & 4++ on both big knights, hide the war dogs).
I find the melta knights are incredible effective for their cost compared to a melee knight, as the melee knight is unable to reach CC after bracketing. Therefore I'm vey happy with the CK detatchemtn, but I'm a bit more unsure about the red corsairs. They can charge and advance and get 3+ CP which is nice, but maybe -1 to hit from 12 '' out with alpha legion would be better, though deep strikers ignore this defence. The mauler fiends are now even cheaper and might serve as threat saturation, but I never liked them in melee, although I can strategem rerolls to hit + wound and +1 to hit with lord discos and sorcerer might use diabolic strength.

Long message short: Any ideers for what to put into the CSM support betallion and what legion to run?

Alpha legion have a new set of stratergems from Psychic Awakening. They can now force deepstrikers to land 12" away or shoot at one as they arrive within 18.

Plus they have a warlord trait for an extra -1 to hit. I would take that as your warlord and forget master of soulforges. That way you get back 2 of the CP you lose not taking red corsairs. You want your opponent to be shooting at your -2/3 to hit warlord and ignoring your knights. And if you warptime the other LD or a maulerfiend up then you're already using one 1st turn charge.

I'd also consider fitting in some Reaper Chaincannon havocks, they're great and can be concealed to hide them from shooting (again in PA).

Seems like I didn't do my homework properly.

I can see Glandestine -1 to hit WT stacks pretty nicely with the legion trait and miasma of pestilence! Thanks for the advice.

The conceal stratagem is a bit expensive at 2 CP, but its quite powerful for adding to they survivability! Only fear i have is that the havoc are easily outplayed with their mere 30'' threat range.
Maybe this could be helped with the forward operations stratagem or renascent infiltration strategem when alpha strike isn't important. Might even stick them in a rhino?

Overall the alpha legion seems way better for guarding the knights with the scrambled coordinates and ambush strategem on the havocs.
Would also love to use the sabotaged armory for exploding vehicles for pure annoyance haha.

Anyway, I think the list could look like this:

CSM battalion detachment, alpha legion

HQ

Lord discordant, MoN, warlord: Clandestine

Lord discordant, MoS, relic: intoxicating elixir

Sorcerer w jumppack, MoN, combi bolter

Troop

Cultists x 10, MoN

CSM x 5, MoN

CSM x 5, MoN

Heavy support:

Havocs, MoS 4 x reaper cannons

Maulerfiend, MoN, lashertendrils

Still going with some CSM as they have more survivability in cover for mere 15 points extra. Though they are smaller and bad at screening...

You can always use renascent infiltration and deepstrike them turn 2 if you're playing against someone castling up on the backline. They're great at getting through lots of infantry which is something that knights struggle with.

Looks good man, will give people headaches when picking targets.

If you fancy changing the autocannons on your armigers I can recommend the moirax with lightning locks. They're great for the points and are still good as they degrade and in overwatch etc.
