Hello all, over the past few months I have been working on a troll horde army. I managed to get a few games in with them before 2019 ended. My son got to be the first test guinea pig for the trolls, so that means facing Lizardmen. We are playing a Battle Line scenario at 3000pts.

Throgg’s Troll Horde
From left to right. The big guy on the 50mm is a stand in for Scyla, next to him is my Throgg, both are old Confrontation trolls. Guy on the pink mass is my Sorcerer Lord of Nurgle on a Palanquin. Last guy counts as an Exalted Hero
BSB on a Palanquin.

To help with those swarms a Batiladon with the Arc of Sotek.
Set up
Throgg is in the troll horde. I kept the
BSB back where he can give rerolls for Stupidity checks. Scyla to the left spreading his Ld10. The Sorcerer is right next to Throgg. The Scar Vet
BSB is in the Saurus to the left. There is a Priest with the Skink skirmishers. The other Priest is on the far right between the Saurus and Salamander.
Trolls turn 1
Just moving up and the Slann shuts down my magic.
Lizardmen turn 1
Slann gets a spell off that cause 2 wounds through the Sorcerer’s armour and ward save. Chameleon Skinks take 1 wounsd off a Dragon Ogre.
Trolls turn 2
The Dragon Ogres charge the Saurus. Scyla fails his restrain and also charges in. Unfortunately the Saurus win and the Dragon ogres bolt. Scyla is unbreakable and stays in the fight.
Big Bob charges in and Jumps Up & Down on the Saurus, killing 7. The Saurus score 3 wounds in return and win because of their Musician. Bob holds!
The Sorcerer takes the Temple Guards toughness down to 2 with Curse of the Leper.
Lizardmen turn 2
The Chamaeleon Skinks chase the Dragon Ogres off the board. Scyla only kills 1 Saurus and takes two wounds in return. The Stegadon charges but the trolls regen save is rocking and they only take 2 wounds. The Saurus on the right finish off Big Bob. A salamander and the Bastiladon charge the Chimera.
Troll turn 3
The Scar Vet finishes off Scyla. The trolls hold firm against the Stegadon. After regular combat, Stomps, and Crumble, there is 1 wound left on the Jungle Swarms and Ogres are stuck and about to get flanked. The green trolls charge a salamander, 1 Skink survives and rolls Insane Courage. Due to the angle Throgg’s Horde can’t fit into combat with the Temple Guard, so the hold back.
Lizardmen turn 3
The Temple Guard decide to bring the fight to Throgg.
The Scar Vet’s unit decide to help out the Stegadon.
The Skink Priest gets off Transformation of Khadon and Turns him self into a Great Fire Dragon.
Throgg’s boyz decimate the Temple Guard, but they are still Stubborn. The blue trolls bolt from the Scar Vet’s unit. The green trolls munch down the Skink and reform. The Saurus on the right charge the Ogres, the Bastiladon joins in. The Ogres break and are run down. The Chimera finishes off the Bastiladon with the Solar Engine. The Salamander breaks and the Chimera runs into the Dragon.
Trolls turn 4
The blue trolls rally off of Throgg’s
Ld. The
BSB charges the Skinks, who flee. The green Trolls hit the Stegadon in the flank. Throgg’s boyz finish off the Temple Guard and the Slann breaks and is run down. The Dragon makes short work of the already wounded Chimera.
Lizardmen turn 4
The Scar Vet’s unit charges and beats the blue trolls. The green trolls finish off the Stegadon. The Dragon and Saurus on the right set up to hit Throgg. Skink Skirmishers rally.
Trolls turn 5
The green trolls hit the Scar Vet’s unit in the rear and whiff horribly.
Throgg’s boyz reposition so everyone is in the front next turn. The blue trolls continue to run. The Sorcerer zaps the Chamaeleons with some Rancid Visitations but they hold. The
BSB charges the Skinks and he lets them run off the table.
Lizardmen turn 5
The Dragon and the Saurus make it in, the Bastiladon comes up short.
The Salamander chases the blue trolls off the table. The Green trolls hold out against the Scar Vet. Throgg’s boyz take the Dragon’s Breath Weapon to the face. Without their Regen save Throgg and the boyz get cut to pieces. They are run down.
Even with a loss that was a fun first outing for the Trolls. It was nice having two leadership bubbles from Scyla and Throgg. We were absolutely shocked at the beating they gave the Temple Guard. I made a mistake and let the
BSB go too far off on his own. The horde was fun, but a bit unwieldy. Not being able to dispel Transformation hurt a lot too. Some lessons learned for next time
Yeah I didn't expect the Dragon Ogres to run so fast, but my Son got a big kick out of the Skinks chasing them off.
