We’re back with more Troll goodness in the New Year. For Christmas, Mrs. Baldrick provided us with a neoprene mat and some new river pieces.
This will be a for fun 3500pt game. Throgg and his boyz have headed out of Troll Country in search of gold and grub. The mighty Slayers of Karak Kadrin hear word of a troll throng moving through the region and head off to seek a Glorious Death!

Set Up
Throgg is with the blue trolls in the center. There is a Dragon Slayer in each unit of Slayers and the Daemon Slayer is in the Brotherhood of Grimnar just to the right of the Goblin Hewer.

For those not familiar with the Slayer Army rules, before rolling for first turn each unit in the army moves forward
2D6. Gotrek & Felix and the Goblin Hewer are exempt from this rule.
Trolls turn 1
Slayers turn 1
Doom Seekers charge the Giant, Chimera, and Sorcerer, Slayers charge a unit of 8 Trolls.
A lone Doom Seeker charges the green Trolls
Many Glorious Deaths this turn. All the Doom Seekers in combat parish, the Giant, Chimera, and green Trolls overrun. The unit of Slayers on the right flank take 11 casualties and only do 2 wounds in return.
Trolls turn 2
The Sorcerer Lord gets an Irresistible Force on the Fleshy Abundance bubble. However, he is sucked into the void as a result of the miscast.
The Giant Charges into Gotrek & Felix, he will be missed. The Chimera charges into the side of the Slayers on the Right flank.
The Shaggoth and family charge into the Slayers to the Left Flank.
With Fleshy Abundance up the Slayers have a rough time getting through the Regen save. They take a beating from the Trolls & Chimera, only taking out 1 troll and deal a wound to the winged beast. Gotrek swiftly dispatches the Giant, however Felix is squished to death when the big guy falls over. Gotrek overruns into the Chimera.
The green trolls kill another Doom Seekers and overrun into a block of Slayers. The Ogres take out another Doom Seekers and overrun into another. The Slayers on the left deal a wound to the Shaggoth and 2 to the Dragon Ogres. Throgg’s unit charges charges the Brotherhood of Grimnar. Throgg dispatches the Giant Slayer and the Brotherhood take 7 wounds from the Trolls. The Daemon Slayer can only deal two wounds.
Slayers Turn 2
Gotrek and the Chimera get each other down to 1 wound. The trolls finish off the Slayers on the left flank. Even with the help of two Doom Seekers the Brotherhood can only 3 wounds. The trolls in return take out another 7. The Daemon Slayer scores 4 wounds on Throgg but he regens them all. Throgg puts 2 wounds on the Daemon Slayer. The green Trolls take out 12 Slayers and only take 1 wound in return. The Slayers on the right are dwindling fast but they put a wound on the Shaggoth and take out a Dragon Ogre.
Trolls turn 3
Neither Gotrek nor the Chimera can get 1 last wound through. The Dragon ogres join the dog pile on the Brotherhood. With Fleshy Abundance gone the Daemon Slayer gets two wounds through on Throgg and thanks to Vampire Slayer they are each
D6 wounds, “Oh, he dead!” There is a Giant Slayer fighting the green trolls with Flaming attacks but he can’t score a wound. The Shaggoth finishes off the Slayers on the right and scans the field for his next target.
Slayer Turn 3
A Doom Seeker goes after the last Dragon Ogre on the left. He kills the beast and overruns into the Shaggoth.
The Brotherhood is decimated to just the Standard and the Daemon Slayer. The green trolls finish off the Slayers in the center. Gotrek takes out the Chimera and looks for his next foe.
Trolls turn 4
A fast turn. The Daemon Slayer falls as does the Brotherhood Standard. The Dragon Ogres and the Trolls reform. The blue trolls to the right go Stupid and stumble into the river. The green trolls make a long charge and hit the Goblin Hewer, killing 2 crew. Amazingly the Doom Seeker takes the last wound off the Shaggoth and overruns into the river.
Slayers turn 4
Gotrek charges the Dragon Ogres and kills 1. The green trolls finish off Malaki and the Goblin Hewer is no more.
We called it there as a clear victory for the Trolls. However we should have played it out. After we added up the victory points and factored in the Slayers Glorious Death rule, the Trolls were only up by a little over 200 points.
We hope you all enjoy the Trolly goodness. With some teaks to the Slayer list this one begs for a rematch!
