Me and some buddies of mine down at the Iwakuni military base had a huge sudo-apocalypse (not using the apocalypse rules) game of 40k over the weekend at 8000 points aside. Game ended at the end of turn 3 due to time constraints with the space marines/eldar up slightly on victory points over the chaos-ork alliance. Major game moments was when chaos, who went first, focused all their fire on the eldar titan killing it stone dead in turn one. The subsequent explosion vaporised all my devastator squads and chaplain before they could be used along with various eldar and space marine casualties besides. Also worth noting was the death of a chaos knight, mid turn 3 after it was charged, shot at, and finally pounded by a venerable dreadnought. The game started with a fair bit of ork cunnin’ after their side failed to deploy anything on the far right flank of the table turn 1, rendering a large amount of space marine and eldar forces almost useless. The usual shenanigans took place, with the blood ravens primus space marines dealing a horrific tole on the combined alpha legion/emperors children forces from their superior positions in the building opposite the street. Orbital strikes on the part of my own space marines (1000pts of raven guard successors) did less than desired whilst the enemy warhound continued to wrack up a considerable tally of behalf of chaos.

Yeah, blowen up in the top half of turn 1, killing half my army in one blow. Tragic. We thought it was over. But because there were no enenemys deployed on one third of the table, and due to some lucky tactical objectives (like capture a specific point that happened to be one of the points on that third, and capture 3 points, 2 of which were on that third, we managed to pull ahead on points and end the game in a draw,not to mention the absolute slaughter that occurred thanks to the primus blood ravens incredibly huge about of bolter rounds they could plug into people. A lot of bad dice rolls saw several of them die to plasma overheats though. The star player was either the blood ravens librarian who, having the blood ravens tactics, absolutely dominated, or my dreadnought who took out the (badly damaged) knight. (1 wound taken off thanks to a lucky assault cannon hit and 2 from the (S12?) powerfist)

Primus = primaris ?
Haha it's fun that the maelstrom actually deleted the benefices of the Ork kunnin' ! Seems like a lot of fun
Do you think you would have been able to keep winning through T4 and 5 ?
