New Strat from the Greater Good PA for Farsight Enclaves.

1CP - Firestorm
Use this Stratagem at the end of your Movement phase. Select up to three T'au Empire units with the Flyer Battlefield Role from your army. This stratagem costs 1 additional Command Point for each selected unit. Roll one D6 for each enemy unit within 3" of any of those selected units. On a 4+ that enemy unit suffers D3 mortal wounds.

Q1: If I select a single flyer, does this stratagem cost 1 CP or 2 CP (meaning it cannot actually be played for 1 CP as labelled)? If I select 3 flyers, does it cost 3 CP or 4 CP?

Q2: If I use the strat on 3 Flyers (Remora drones being the popular choice) and there is an enemy unit within 3" of all 3 Flyers, does that unit potentially take (up to) 3D3 or only up to D3 Mortal Wounds?

A1: It costs 2 CP. You pay 1CP just for the privilege of using it and then pay an additional 1CP for each Flyer you wish to use. It's basically giving you the option to skirt the Matched Play stratagem limit by paying 2-4CP for different "levels" of the stratagem. You could theoretically pay 1 CP but you would affect zero flyers.

A2: No, because the stratagem says "within 3" of any", not "all" or "each". It's the same wording as the Necron Crypteks or Painboyz, it doesn't matter how many are within 3" the rule only applies once.

A1: It says 1 additional CP for each selected unit. That means if you select 1 unit, you must spend 1 CP, so the total cost of the stratagem is 2-4 CP.

A2: You roll once per unit for D3 MW since you roll a dice for "each enemy unit within 3" of any of those selected units". You would roll multiple dice if it said "each of those selected units".

I can't unfortunately argue about once again GW making a mess of RAW. The issue is RAW this is an over priced strategum.

Yeah. Mostly what I thought.

Though I've seen people claim you could fly 3 Remora straight into some cluster of characters, etc.. and drop up to 3D3 wounds on everything around for 3 CP, which seems both powerful but not really possible in the current wording of the strat.

How is this played ? If one unit of two remora drone models is within 3" of 3 different enemy units, each enemy unit suffers D3 MW on a 4+ ?
