This seems to keep coming up and I keep having people correct me on it. I just want to check which interpretation of this common wording for rerolling 1s to hit is correct. This is from the new Ork gretchin subkultur rule:

'When resolving an attack made by a vehicle model with this subkultur re-roll a hit roll of 1'

Now to my understanding each attack is treated individually so this translates to 're-roll all hit rolls of 1' but whenever this crops up I run into people arguing the other way (only ONE hit roll can be re-rolled when the model shoots for example).

Would you educated rules folk be able to tell me which interpretation is correct and why?

For every attack you can reroll a single hit roll of 1.

Each hit roll is an attack though, so you can always reroll all hit rolls of 1.

The confusion comes from trying to use a more generalised english interpretation of 'attack', which is very broad and could include a multitude of shots or even an entire battle or larger offensive! In game terms, an attack is one atom of offense, one roll.

Each hit roll is treated individually, even if you fast roll. So you can re-roll every 1 on your dice.

The rules assume you are not fast rolling, as per the SM FAQ.

Thanks for the clarification guys - yeah I did think it worked that way, just keep on having people 'correct' me on it so began to doubt my interpretation! Much appreciated
