Finished building "the refinery" so to speak. Basically picked up some of the zone mortalis terrain, the walls box and the platforms box and a forge shrine box. Also mixed in some older gw ruins bits. I elected to keep it pretty modular, especially because the plasma conduits work so well like that. Already have some painted plasma conduits that are all also mostly separate pieces so it just makes sense to stick with modular pieces. With that I still wanted to make a few larger plasma conduit "platforms". Really stoked I was able to use some old ruin floors and low walls. I was able to keep some of the stairs/platform separate as well and they fit over the plasma conduits provided theres enough room. The skull crane thing fits over the plasma conduits as well. Last but not least I was able to use one of the bits from the forge shrine to civilianize the gsc vehicle a bit more, replacing its gun with an arc torch. Also made good use of the command console, added an old cities of death street light on top.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Wow, it looks really good. Have you decided how you'll paint it?

Kudos! This type of horizontal terrain has been sorely lacking in my games. Your refinery just gave me so many ideas how to employ sector mechanicus and zone mortalis terrain pieces in order to fill that gap!

I bet that refinery will make a standout centerpiece for any 40K table. Also digging the GSC civvy mod to the truck!

Thanks guy, likely gonna prime black, dry brush dawnstone and dawnstone dry, leadbelcher for a lot of the metal and to scuff it up a bit. Pretty much drybrush everything, the coils on the plasma conduits I'll do blue to match my current ones. The various screens I'll likely do in green. Also might do a bit of rust/copper on a few parts.

Yeah although it's not the best value the zone mortalis walls work wonders as los blockers. The forge shrine was a better value over all. The downside of some of the sector mechanicus stuff is like the new gw ruins, they're sorta taller than they need to be and cover up on the platforms is hard to come by without sourcing extra bits.

Really recommend the forge shrine, I'm not gw fan boy but it's a pretty good value for what you get. It's also where I got the arc welder bit to civilainize the gsc vehicle.

yeah been researching sector mechanicus kits and that one is very good in terms of bang for the buck.

I only got one prometheum refinery kit ATM, but will be adding that one to my kit depot sooner or later. and probably one more columns and walls set to go with the hive warzone box I alreday got, since this horizontal build stuff looks so badass!

Its a bit silly, but havent yet built any of it.. I want to have enough kits first so that I can really mix everything up before gluing stuff together.

A box or two of thermic plasma regulators or a box haemotrope reactors would be worthwhile too.

The plasma regulators are nice because they offer a platform that's about half the high of the other stuff like the shrine. Makes climbing a bit easier because models have that incremental step half way.

someone mad that with 2 boxes and couple extra tiles.

The haematrope ractors are great because they're one of the few parts that block a lot of los but also you can combine them to make something like this
