So I'm and avid collector of certain GW kits mainly for the purposes of RPGs. I have never played a game of warhammer - be it old hammer, 40k, or AoS in my life and havent really been too interested in it, but since the time that Warcry came out I've found myself slowly gathering and converting a pretty significant number of models, pictured in the spoilers.

Enough to where if this is enough to be an army I might try to play.

Now one of my problems is that I don't know anything about points values, or how min/max unit size works. Do I need to pay extra points for each model above the minimum? If people could help me out with this, and tell me where my force lay points wise I would appreciate it!

Below you'll see some conversions I have going, and part of my including the pictures is to know if you all would find these acceptable proxies. I don't play, but I've read enough to have some ideas over what these could count as.

x20 marauders (The 25mm based guys) - I have an extra body or two I could convert into a standard bearer or musician is that would offer some benefit.

x12 larger based models that would be either warriors or chosen. I have a unit leader in the works, and two extra bodies that could be a standard bearer and horn blower, or just two more warriors depending on what ends up best.

x1 dark oath chieftain converted to be a more generic warlord who I think could pass as anything I wanted him to be. What are your thoughts on what you would accept him as, and what would character would you recommend him to be?

x2 "witches" from the godsworn hunt box, though the the red haired one is painted pretty poorly and I'd prefer not to use her unless it was really to my advantage to.

x1 fomoroid crusher

x1/5/10 Centaurs. (I only have the one near finished as a test peice, but I ended up liking him so much I'll try to make another 4, and have the horse bodies to eventually make 10, though finding the right size human torso to match up can be difficult.

Bonus:
x3 "Hoplites" - these warriors/ chosen are probably going to end up with my brother as a proxy warcry warband, though if the likes the scions of the flame a lot/ I can find a cool conversion angle for them (not hard, they look ace!) then I'll be keeping these 3, and could add another 4 more to be a distinct unit on their own, if that's legal.

If you'd like better quality pics, or close up of anything just ask!

Here's a useful tool to price up an army with all you've got.

To make a legal list is simple, you need at least one Hero as your General, and depending on how many points you play at, you need 2 Battleline for a 1000 point or lower game, or 3 Battleline if you go above. Maurauders and Chaos Warriors are your Battle Line, and the Darkoath Warchief would be your required hero.

The 'witches' are also heroes and could likely stand in as another wizard model in your army.

Unsure about the Hoplites and Centaurs, the latter could probably stand in for some Chaos Knights.

As for the question if this'll be a good army, I can't give an experienced answer, but my guess would be that it's a little weak.

OBR - 4250

The three hoplites would be best used as exalted champions or chaos lords, honestly. Agreed the centaurs could either count as Chaos Knights or Marauder Horsemen.

This would give you:
6 heroes (1 Darkoath, 2 sorcerers, 3 exalteds/lords)
1 fomoroid crusher
2 5-man units of chaos warriors
20 marauders
5 knights or mtd marauders
And looks like a cultist unit of untamed beasts as well. It’s over 1000pts, but not by much. You’d have to lose two out of the 6 heroes for it to be 1000pt compliant. However, if you can get a battalion in that and make all three Hops into Lords, I think you MIGHT be able to squeak into a 2k list and use it all. It’ll be an uphill struggle though, unless your opponent is on an even level; not a ton of synergy. But picking your battles and playing to objectives can work.

Oh, one last bit of advice to start: if you have a slaanesh opponent, request they avoid the Keeper of Secrets model. Sadly, even one will tear you apart, and it would suck to get discouraged that easily. It’s the most broken non-special character model in the game, currently. It won’t be a fun game, so just try to avoid it so you can enjoy the game.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
