During this time of sheltering at home, a lot of us are taking advantage of catching up on our hobby backlog. I for one have spent more time than ever thinking about painting my models and I’m really close to starting. But there was one last thing I had to do before actually buckling down to the backlog: going through a mystery bin of bits.

12 years ago, a friend leaving the hobby gave me a bin of bits. I didn’t really know what was in it, other than it was probably full of orks. I didn’t play orks and I was also taking a break from the hobby at the time, so I put it in my garage where it stayed until I moved two years ago. At that point it was placed in a storage room where it’s been since; unexplored.

But I’m sheltering at home. So it’s time to see what’s in the bin!

It’s a pile of mostly cashed space marine, chaos space marine, and guard sprues. A little unexpected. Also some foam from travel cases. Ok, let’s see what else we have.

Ok, cool! It’s a pile of orks, metal bits, a librarian new in packaging, demons?, and a primed genestealer? Not stored the neatest, but alright.

God, $12.00 for a librarian. Simpler, less expensive times...

There was also this, a bag of orks. Looks like it’s at least ½ gallon. It’s at this point that I decided I’d really hate to see how my friend manages all of his network cables.

Let’s keep going. Mother of God, a crashed aquila lander still on the sprue!

I tried to organize everything to just get a handle on what’s in the box:

Looks like red orks. Boyz?

Boyz with Choppas? And one genestealer.

Lootas (red) and Tankbustas? Nobz with power claws? Some sorta Slaanesh or Tzeench demon?

Warboss? Fiends? Some sorta guy that can ride the Fiends?

The rest of it was a sprue graveyard. Just loads of ork bits primarily. Maybe alternate builds for the existing models? There were also random leftover bits from a few vehicles to.

Thanks for exploring my bin of stuff with me. So...did I identify the stuff correctly? Am I close to an ork army? Are the demons usable?
