Hey folks. Wondering if there is any wargaming clubs in the Sydney/Greater Sydney area. Not the ones that usually meet up in a GW or GoodGames mind you. If not would anyone be interested in getting one organised some time after the Covid-19 virus dies down?

G'day! I know of this one in Sutherland that's supposed to be pretty good. A mate of mine plays there heaps and loves it, I don't because I live to far away though!

I won't complain about links. I don't think it's against the forum rules at least. And I'm pretty sure I remember that club actually, used to live in that area. Sadly moved a few hours travel from it to the Western Area.

There's sadly nothing much in the Western Sydney area that isn't attached to a store anymore. Has been that way for quite a few years now.

WSWG out at Quaker's hill closed down a few years ago - prior to the 'rona being a thing). They used to run the Leviathan convention.

Sutherland shire gamers are still around (they also run MOAB, but I don't believe that will happen this year) - and about the only old-school non-store club left around.

Things either went back to "bunch of friends in the garage" or "store based gaming club" with nothing between them.

I was looking for the WSWG, that explains why their webpage and email don't function.

Think their is a need for another club in that area? I've been at the centre of one being made way back (Pheonix gaming club down in Melbourne) so could likely hammer together a functioning routine for others. (have a circle of friends I may start chatting to about it when the rona finally eases back)

Bit of a terrain maker as well so that's not an issue as such.

I've got friends out west, Mt Druitt, Penrith, Liverpool and the north-west (between Penrith and Richmond) as well as the hills district. There's been nothing there for a few years, and yeah, I agree. There's a need for it.

I played at a bunch of clubs back in the day. Spartans, WSGS, Chatswood Crusaders and the Northern Knights (sydney).

I used to play at the WSGS years ago (I stopped when they moved to Quakers Hill, because not having a car, and them being on a train line with very iffy services made it too hard to get to (they initially met up in Blacktown across the road from the bowling alley). I think a few of the old Sydney NK moved to Cherrybrook or they just play at their local GW/GG stores now.

How hard do you think it would be to set up a club? Best locations to have it and such? I think you can "Rent" public locations like rooms in libraries or the like or even school rooms on the weekend. Can't seem to find the resources to search for it though.
