Hi all!

My first post here so, please, be gentle!

I recently purchased Dark Imperium and sprayed the SM in Chaos Black about a week ago, then sprayed them in Macragge Blue yesterday but it went horribly wrong and they look like sh*t!

I'm now in the process of trying to strip them back to the plastic so that I can start again without having to purchase new models and have been recommended several different things to use:

Dettol
Isopropyl Alcohol 99.9 % Pure IPA Isopropanol Liquid
Methylated spirits

I tried Dettol and it's turned into a bit of a mess, plus the backpack thingy came off.

I haven't tried the other 2 products but do we think that they will be able to get through the paint and take it back to plastic?

Also, will it dissolve the (plastic) glue that I used so that they end up in bits?

I'm just concerned because these are my first minis and I'm already a bit cheesed off that I've messed them up!

Thanks in advance!

Methylated spirits will fix your problem, dettol can be problematic if done wrong, you'll need a toothbrush to scrub the mess off and dont soak the mini's for too long (like a day or longer) 10 mins should do it.

Just wear gloves so your fingers dont get soft, depending on how much glue was used and the quality depends on if it will fall apart

Plastic glue shouldn't dissolve, it works by melting the surfaces of the plastic together

It can if the glue has air bubbles and the liquid gets in between

I've had arms, torso's and legs fall off just from purple spirit soak

It's sort of weakens the bond
