Food for a Giant Fenrisian Wolf

Hi everyone!

I used to play Warhammer Fantasy and 2nd edition (I think) 40K, I actually remember the Eldar first release and how sexy I thought they were then I met a girl! Like, an actual keeper! (I know, don’t, please.)

So, one marriage, two kids and a steady career later I’m back, and looking for something more fulfilling than hours on the PlayStation when the clan give me some space. I’ve often thought about coming back to the hobby but only recently realised I don’t have to spend £1000s on a massive army, paint it all and memorise the rules in a matter of weeks to enjoy the 40K universe! I may never have an actual battle on a tabletop, but that doesn’t matter either.

My creative side is itching, and it’s loved studying the lore most of all in recent weeks. I’m a sucker for an origin story and letting my imagination fill in any blanks.

It seems now is a good time to study 40K all over again too. Since I’ve been away Viking sagas have fascinated me. So that must be why I’ve chosen Space Wolves to focus on to get me going again. I was never a great painter so these guys could be a real challenge for me, we’ll see! I could do with the therapy regardless.

Right now, I have an ambition to create my own Space Marine chapter and add Sisters of Battle, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, and a few Custodians. Those figures look amazing, and they’ll give me loads of options for battle and campaign back stories. Who knows I may get around to writing my own lore too. But for now a solid Space Wolf collection maybe with my own unique leader(s) (see can’t help it) will suffice.

See you in the threads. V

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
