My big questions are

1) do the reavers make sense?
2) should I pay 1CP for Pivotal Role on the Reavers?

Game Plan:

Turn 1, I use 7 CP choosing from the following strategems.
Spoiler:

Movement
1CP for Eviscerating Fly By so that the reavers can pick off a character by flying over them
1CP for Warrior Acrobatics to auto advance 6" with the Harlequin Troupe
1CP for Prismatic Blur for a 3++ on the Troupe

Psychic
1CP for Seer Council to give +1 to casts if I'm facing a heavy anti-psyker list
1CP held for a psychic test reroll

Shooting
None

Charge
1CP held for a charge reroll

Fight
2CP for Malicious Frenzy for +1 to wound with the troupe
2CP for Murderous Entrance for +1 Damage for the troupe's attacks
3CP to fight twice with the troupe

I save 2CP for either lightning fast reflexes or 1CP for Twilight Encore to pursue anyone who flees the troupe

The goals in the first two turns is to either remove the big threats from my opponent's list or clear the midboard. Against things like nurglings, I can usually clear them all in one or two turns. I can usually kill any unit I've tested against in 1 turn if all goes according to plan.

The Dire Avengers and Wyches can usually hold objectives with the rest of the list rampages across the table.

The late game focuses on maxing missions.

10 points per turn from the Avengers and Wyches
5 points at least one turn from any other unit holding an objective

Secondaries
Assassinate
Domination
Bring it Down
Linebreaker
Psychic Ritual (if nothing else scores points against my opponent)

These are my go to secondary choices. They are easiest to max I've found.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Played a test game against a Magnus/Blightlord list.

Turn 1, the reavers managed to kill 2 characters through Eviscerating Fly By, the blasters, grav talons, and the agoniser attacks.

My army felt like it commited a bit too piecemeal as I left the opponent's army largely within their deployment zone. The counter attack damaged my Harlequin troupe.

I was able to remove the 3 daemon princes at the expense of my characters and sort of ground down the Blightlords for the rest of the game.

I'm definitely giving the Troupe Master Twilight Grasp to improve his damage.

Drazhar is a wonderful addition to the Wraithblades. He does more damage than the rest of the unit that he hides behind.

I like it. More test games to come.

What did you think of the large Warlock Conclave unit? Same with the bulked out Wraithblades. I've got both units and have limited experience with both units.

Luck of the Laughing God and Twilight Grasp combo well with the Twilight Fang armed Troupe Master. That model combo replaced my Solitaire ATM.

Did you feel as if you were short on CP? I have not looked at Drukhari and am very intrigued by by your 3 Patrol Aeldari concept.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Well, I played a large Seer Council in former editions when weapons were D1 and not larger.
A fortuned Seer Council was harder to crack than a coconut.
But these days are gone, since weapons with damage >1 can kill a Warlock outright.
Frankly, I'd stay away from a Seer Council these days.

Thanks. I've played them in previous editions as well. I have not played them in 9th and was curious what the OP thought about the unit as he recently played it based on his post.

The Council is too expensive for what it can achieve.
It can still tie up a suitable enemy unit ad infinitum but its not killy enough with its witch weapons.
