Wow, if there was ever a textbook example of how Psychology can affect a game, this would be it.

Comments one and all, feel free to chime in.

2 Dragons against your beastmen? I would've packed up instantly to do something more entertaining

I like challenges from time to time, I just wish I had brought my Minotaurs.

Failing a key psychology test has to be one of the most frustrating things that can happen in this game.

Add a miscast here and a lost combat there and all of a sudden there's a massacre brewing.

Makes me want to get really good at playing Tomb Kings...

I guess much can be due to psychology and some poor rolls. Psychology and movement are imo the most important parts of 6th, considerably more than doing damage in combat.

But if I may comment, I think one-dimensional army lists don't help. It reduces the tools available to counter the enemy.
So a full infantry army with just herds and bestigors is obviously not going to fare well against an opponent with all mounted/flying/range units. From the very start.
Sort of like the all-minotaurs list. Beast of Chaos have quite a few units like hounds, chariots, dragon ogres, etc... that are very useful in different situations.
Limiting an army list to two or three types of unit is generally not a great idea for most armies. Like playing rock-paper-scissors.

Honestly what cost me the game from the get go was taking so many Marks of Tzeentch coupled with Ambushing those herds in. I could have slipped in a Spawn and Chaos Giant that my brother had painted up for the army, but I was playing to a stupid theme. That, and I wanted to actually use the Ambush rule. I'm sure an Undivided force with some more units in it would do just fine. The same army with some Centigors, for instance, would probably have had no problem.

Updated with the new link, and a quick shout out to Badlurk with regards to the whole argument about whether Immune to Panic would affect games that much.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
