Oh, and after building stuff using the Fortications sprues it's the only battlezone I wouldn't recommend. They don't seem to fit the clasps things well at all.

I had to file down the plug hole on all the thick tiles and still needed to use the screwdriver trick

You need to cut off some of the rivets if you want to use the buttresses as well.

Do you have asterians or forge fathers in your shipment? I forget the delay on the asterian-containing packages, but anything with forge fathers shouldn't be sent till the 10th. Beyond those, I dunno that they're prioritizing by geography.

Can anyone comment as to if they're still doing the turbo-fast fedex they did for most/all of the first wave overseas or if it's slower this time?

They said most packages will go regular mail. I'd imagine only the extra large packages will go FedEx.

They charged me for W2 courier shipping, so I think that's a clue for people on an individual basis right there.

Yeah, I'm not sure how long it's going to take for me to build using anymore of the "Fortification" stuff. I pretty much loathe it right now. Took me longer to build a 2 story fort (square of 4 tiles with the extension tiles on the end) than it did to build an interlocking 4 story 2x3 tile building with an accessory tower.

I might have gone overboard on the building. Not sure I want to know what it would have cost to build if I hadn't just clipped 16 battlezones out after my second box arrived.

I've noticed I have had a distorted perception of the amount/usage of battlezones as well. I think I ordered 14 but two of them were delayed ruins.

Seems like it isn't stretching as far as my calculations had it going.. yet at the same time I've still got a lot of bits left that I haven't used. I'm really looking forward to getting my ruins sprues, seems like they can stretch battlezone tiles extra far while keeping things looking good, as long as you don't mind the damaged look. And they make a great thematic excuse to have holes in terrain for enhanced playability.

Ooh and the new terrain sprues too, the set with the wonky shapes, looking forward to playing with those as well. And having the connector bundle to make everything nice and solid.

I wish there had been more double window tiles for playability. That's really my only complaint with the core world battlezones. The ruins are nice. I'm going to make a damaged large building to go with my current huge building

I guess this is a news item.. Half price Fortified District at miniature market.

Says 20+ in stock. I'm trying to remember what we decided about the districts. The larger sets were a better deal for the money right? Though... Half off and such.

Not sure I'll get any of them, I have so many as it is... But I thought you guys may be interested, it's a good price to try them out if you have been on the fence I guess.

Good to hear it Shas!

Even at half price I wouldn't buy it.

The fortified bits I got in my Quadrant were a pita to build with. Barely anything fit well and I had to do quite a bit of cutting and filing to make things fit.

The rest is amazing, but I'll never buy any fortified bits again.

Huh, I'll have to look at my fortified stuff again some time... Some of the pieces seemed a little harder to deal with, but not like you guys have been reporting.

Yeah, I don't think I'd ever buy another fortified district. I'm sad as it is that it's the one of the none core world ones I got 3 of instead of 3 ruins or landing pads.

As for the actual building of it. It wasn't that I had to do a ton of cutting and filing. It's the connectors not fitting almost at all. I wound up actually gluing most of my fort together instead of using connectors. And because of that it's not as flush as I'd prefer and I'm going to have to green stuff some gaps.

Oh well, gonna build a few generic buildings for a local GT to borrow and then going to go a bit hog wild on 3-4 other large buildings that I can connect together for some epic skirmish fun.

@Alph

I'll put up some photos in my gallery here in the next few days. I'm have a lot of building my stuff. Had to sort my tiles last night to see how many double window sprue I had left and only have like 6 It's the best one for lower level playability.

I'm still shocked that Mantic hasn't put out 'instructions' of some sort, showing some of the things you 'can' build

It would be helpful, and a great marketing tool too...

Putting up some "plans" on their website of some buildings, both simple and advanced, would probably help some people quite a bit. Has anyone heard of them doing this?

Their index is borked and doesn't have a catergory for the Battlezones, but they show up in search

EDIT: part of the message got chopped trying to make the URL link work, and now they are sold out

I received mine last week. I've been building what my wife call adult legos all weekend

Currently working on my second large building. It's base is 4 tiles by 3 tiles. I'll build one more big one incorporating ruins to be the "bad side of town" and then a fair number of smaller or medium sized that can be attached using bridges to create a huge, deep area of play for skirmish games that can be reconfigured on the larger scale fairly easily.

Also built another "Fortification" building. Still hate the sprues. Was easier with the screw driver trick but the corner pieces don't match up at all on two fortified corners.

Cool. So any pictures of the zombie sprues? After a splurge of DZ terrain building I hope the fingers and thumbs are not too sore.

OK - I need to ask.

What is the "Screwdriver Trick" all about?

Once I got the screw driver idea from this thread the fingers and thumbs to a break

I'll see if I can't get some photos up of the sprues for the thread when I get home.

That would be brilliant Hulksmash, thank you in advance. If you got any of the metal characters (and whatever else that is "new" in your pledge) any pictures will be excellent. Cheers.

Think it's from terrain tutor originally. You use a flat head screw driver to push the connectors in and pop them out. Best thing I've found for getting the plugs in.

I recommend everyone check out this vid he did for battlezones

Hulksmash for the corner pieces did you cut the middle rivet off of the tiles that worked for me.

@JoeRugby

I did but the pieces simply aren't wide enough for a flush fit. They fit flush (i.e. the tabs go in the holes) on the standard tiles but the fortification ones are to thick. It leaves ugly gaps in several places. I'm just using them as re-inforcement for my bottom floor buildings I'm using the coreworld tiles on.

As for the flat head screw driver it's the only way to make fortifications.

MM isn't selling them as well as they probably expect because they didn't have them listed under Deadzone.
If you didn't see them come in as a new item on their front page, if you search for DZ you won't find these.

I figured out the screwdriver trick all by myself Spent most of the weekend building buildings and it just seemed like the easiest way to get the clips to snap in.

Okay, so nobody is getting back to me about Howlett. I hate all of you who have him already and haven't shown pics. Also, a question (as declaring hate is the best way to get a response): is his head a separate bit, or part of his body?
