I admit I don't know exactly where this post should go and if it gets moved, fine.
Seeing the new monolith in 9e had from from a glass pea shooter to maybe a tempered glass cannon I decided to get one, but not wanting to pay the no doubt 100$ that the new one would go for i looked for a used one at a decent price.
My quest ended here:

I usually deal with
CP at a little thing we like to call Archon, a fhan held non corporate convention that's been around for 44 years.
CP is a fixture of the huckster room. I usually buy some nice used stuff there and jabchat with the owner We couldn't have archon this year because of that

covid, but when i decided to hunt for a good preowned monolith i found it there at a good enough price.
It was assembled and well primed. The assembly I'll give an A- . Well done but there are a few spots that need a l'il flash trimming. The priming was good. The gauss flux cannons are mobile but one is totally loose. No biggie it's a rear one.
The ring pop of doom had itself glued in with the halves kinda facing forward and it's glued in. I may paint it some glowing color. All in all I can't

about it much, i'm pretty

with it even without a base. They never said it had one.
As to the shipping, it was PDQ, even allowing i live near them.
Man, they sure packed this
carefully. Embedded in foam peanuts and mummified in bubble wrap. Seriously getting to this was probably harder than unwrapping a stereotypical Egyptian mummy. (Yeah yeah I know most mummies weren't wrapped in gauze strips.)
I don't think King Tut was wrapped as well as this monolith was, and unlike king tut's, ahem, "
royal scepter", shall we say, none of the monolith's bits were broken off.
So if you're looking for a game store that does mail order in the US and is reliable, try castle perilous. I've dealt with them at conventions and thru mail order, and was never unhappy when i was done.
