So this list is a shot at making something that "feels" like eradicators in deletion power, even if its not near as hardy as eradicators or priced so whacky cheap. To be something like fair, the guns would have to cost 1/2 as much. Also, I am (maybe misremembering) that servitors don't consume elite slots when paired with an engenseer, just as crusaders don't when brought by a minipriest. Cadians. Battalion. Yarrik Company Commander (warlord) (no trait, but carries Relic of Lost Cadia). Aradia Madellan psyker primaris (+1 to hit spell, and uses the strat with the wyrdvanes to blow a doublecast at +2 to warpcheck) inquisitor malleus with combimelta (I like them) and extra psy power. Castigate and Psychic pursuit. with a thunderhammer. 94 pnts. 3 wyrdvanes (cast at +1 on d6, but doublecast with +3 on d6 if cp spent with aradia) (psychic barrier and nightshroud) astropath (malstrom FTW, baby) engenseer. the meat of the list, "gaurd's tin multimelta boys" .... 3 x 4 servitors with 2 multimelta, 2 multimelta, 2 multimelta. They can pump out near the eng at bs4+ and take no slot (I believe!). 24 inch range means these are effectively little 4 wound gaurd-ish heavy weapon teams with 2 MM each. Sort of. ministerium priest ... 2 x 5 crusaders. Just hard to shift for gaurd, I reckon. command squad with 2 plasma and 1 heavy bolter (can ride a valkyrie, I reckon, or strat reserve) veteran squad with 3 grenades and 1 heavy bolter 6 x 10 regular gaurd infantry with plasma rifle, heavy bolter, powersword, bolter 432 manticore with its payload full manticore with full payload (-1cp) basilisk (remember, strat for full rerolls, aka, the cadian scratch weapon that the mantis follow) transport valkyrie (hellstrike, mulultilaser (-1 cp) then, iotan gorgonnes patrol (-2 cp) tempest prime (-1 cp for old grudges warlord trait) 5 scions with a plasma pistol So, the object of this list is to not give up points on secondaries, and to be able to contest primaris (more or less) against marines. I figure its weak points are pretty obvious, most enemies will go for thin the ranks as a start (it gives up 16 out of 15 such points) and maybe character assassination or abhor the witch. Or both. I would love feedback on this. The idea of shooting at marine gravis armor types with multimelta infantry makes me smile. The idea of fanatic crusaders fighting like demons to go toe to toe with overbuilt and arrogant primaris marines does too. The idea of the occasional charge of the servitor brigade (with an engenseer screaming "101011101010, you scrapheaps! A10AC!" (Cause he is cursing in binary and screaming orders in hexadecimal! Not yet so desperate to speak in ascii...) That being said, I think the gaurd side gives good generic LOS independant anti-armor, and has more or less enough anti-horde in it, has some nice unusual utility in the psykers and engenseer to keep the back armor alive beyond all reason, and the valkyrie can drop the anti- character psykerball anywhere its needed. Thoughts? I know 6 cp isn't the most at start, but mostly you are using it to (potentially) get the cadians pumping their heavy shots at +1 to hit from the manticores, either by interlocking fields or by the PA manticore +1 with LOS strat.
