1st squad in 18 years almost done. Here's one of the squad members (click on the photo to view it in the Dakka Gallery):

I guess my excuse for the yellow scheme is that it's arguably not too far from the old Badab camo (2nd slide in the link below).

UPDATE: The finished mini, although still some stuff to do on the base:

UPDATE 2 (2021-06-07):

I still wasn’t happy about my paint job on the yellow marine. Yesterday I therefore did some more work on the mini. Now it finally looks OK, I guess.

What is our duty? To go to the forest and point at sunflowers in the name of The God-Emperor.

Looks good, the armour mods are a nice touch and the red/yellow scheme is very nicely done.

Here’s the finished mini (although the base is still not entirely finished):

Great job, wish I could get yellows to look that good.

Thank you! Yellow is very time-consuming to paint, but I always wanted a yellow marine army...

It's always nice to see yellow pulled off well, but that deep red is just gorgeous...

Thanks! I think I’ve posted the red formula below my 1st WIP post on https://www.instagram.com/augusttorngrenwartin

Basically, I mostly used different mixes of Mephiston Red and Rhinox Hide, and then some Nuln Oil (and some Black Templar contrast paint). Unless my memory fails me, I then used pure Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet and Wild Rider Red for edge highlighting etcetera. I also used some Lahmian medium, Vallejo matte varnish and Vallejo Mecha matt varnish.

I think that’s it.

Huzzah for a firstborn!
Great job.

The flowers, it is a kind of beautiful flame.
