I’m just kind of confused here. So, the model which is still available from Forgeworld is called the imperial Bombard which corresponds to the look of the imperial bombard. Yet the IA Compendium list the Colossus Bombard which is an entirely different model that has a distinctively different chassis and cannon shape. So which is it supposed to be?

I believe it's supposed to be the Imperial Bombard. If you wanted to field it as the Colossus, I would be happy with that.

They're different names for the same thing. A massive siege mortar on a Leman Russ chassis.

The different chassis you're perhaps thinking of is the old epic model?
I've also seen on google a scratchbuilt version on a Chimera chassis, but that's not an official model.

That's because they were previously separate things. If you have the ability to check the old 5th edition Guard codex, go to the Ordinance Battery page and check the Colossus.

It's basically a smaller version of the Bombard on the Chimera chassis.

The Bombard was the Forge World exclusive one. More powerful and built on the Leman Russ chassis. At some point GW or FW put the names together and called it the Colossus Bombard.
