Hello Dakka Dakka,
New IG player with a casual list. It is based off of "The Bowmen" by Arthur Machen and is lifted from the Angels of Mons legend.
The idea is that I have a relatively mobile mass of infantry with flamethrower squads supported by out-of-sight mortar teams, an armored column of three Leman Russ Demolishers accompanied two maxed out Sentinel Teams to mop up anything needing mopping. Finally, a small force of Battle Sisters to tie down anything worth attacking in melee. Any advice would be welcome. Again this isn't supposed to be a tournament winner, just a fluffy list to have fun with. My main question is if I should take out the Platoon Commander, two Zeraphym Pennants, add a Master of Ordnance and make him my Warlord. What do you think?

Is Jury Rigged Repairs worth it if you're only using a couple of tanks? Surely Gunnery Experts would be a better investment?

I make a similar point about the medipacks in the command squads. Isn't the value of mortars in their indirect fire? So you wouldn't want them advancing with the infantry such that the heal bubble is flexible. So what value are you extracting? I would ditch them and put special weapons on your infantry. 2-3 meltas or 5 grenade launchers. Or storm bolters on your tanks and upgrade your company commanders.

Personally, I'd drop the command squads. They're only worth taking as special weapon squads. The leman russes I'd make them into tank commanders and drop the company commanders.

You can used the save points and freed up elite slots from the command squads to take platoon commanders.

The sentinels I'd give heavy flamers. Use them to tarpit enemies and slow down their advance. Basically think of the sentinel heavy flamers as their melee weapons.

With all the blast weapons I'd actually take gunnery experts.

Are you planning to use strategic reserves for your special weapon squads? If not, they need a delivery system otherwise they'll just be shot off the table.
