Yeah, I'm working on a whole crusade framework specifically for Drukhari wych cult arena battles. Really,t he only difference between a crusade mission and a regular mission is you don't need to use the matched mission '90 points total' framework and instead you can just have each objective be 1 or 2 points or whatever easier to count up number, and you need to put a reward in terms of crusade benefits at the end.
For example, this is a really simple mission intended for smaller games:
Exhibition Match
The crowd falls quiet as the fighters step into the arena. They know that this is a highly anticipated battle - no interference will take place during this match, and the participants are expected to please the crowd with displays of brutality.
No Arena Hazard rolls are made during this battle.
Tally up the power level of the units destroyed during the battle.
Action: Gruesome Finish. Any unit may choose to take this action at the beginning of the movement phase in a turn after they destroyed an enemy unit in any Fight phase of the previous battle round. The action ends at the end of the turn. One unit they destroyed in the previous battle round counts as being worth twice the normal Power Level at the end of the game for victory point scoring.
The winner of the battle earns 2RP instead of 1RP.
And this is a more complex one
Supremacy
Popular among the status-obsessed wych cults and gangs of commorragh is a battle in which the combatants’ display gory trophies and symbols of their past accomplishments and attempt to defend them while seeking to deface those of the opposing faction.
Deployment: players must divide their forces into two groups as equal as possible in power level. The player who wins the initiative roll off chooses 1 arena gate feature, then the player who lost the initiative roll off chooses 2 arena gate features, and finally the player who won the roll chooses a second arena gate feature. Beginning with the player who won the initiative roll off, players deploy their two forces one entire force at a time wholly within 6” of the arena gate features they chose.
Place 1 objective marker in the center of each quadrant of the battlefield and 1 in the center. Any time an objective marker is controlled during the battle, it remains controlled until seized by the opposing player. In addition, two new actions are available for this battle:
Action: Commemorate Recent Victories
Any unit that destroys an enemy unit within 3” of an objective marker may begin to perform this action. At the end of the controlling player’s next command phase, if the objective marker is still controlled by them, place a Prestige marker next to that objective.
Action: Defile Enemy Trophies
Any INFANTRY unit that ends its move within 3” of an objective marker controlled by the opposing player may begin to perform this action. At the end of the controlling player’s next Command phase, place a Prestige marker on the objective.
At the end of the game, each objective marker controlled by a player is worth 1 point, and each objective marker with a Prestige marker is worth 2 points. Any unit in the winning player’s army that performed one of the above actions receives 1 additional experience point for each time the action was performed.
I use a lot of Actions, army-splitting, and neutral units added on to the battlefield mid game in order to make missions last a long time to give each player opportunities to pursue the Agendas they've chosen, and I try to keep the mission from being so crazy that it's tough to track on top of Agenda tracking.
