if it looks like you've spent more than 30 seconds on each model, your probably going to be alright. As the guy above me said, its really just to stop someone spraying their army one colour then slapping a tiny amount of a secondary colour on the gun or helmet and calling it a day, and re-spraying thier marines to whatever is Chapter of the Month for that sweet, meta-chasing cheesiness.
Its to get you to spend some effort making them
look good. if your models have two colours but
look good, you'll find most people will be happy with them.
also, bear in mine that "three colours" can still look like
this and still be officially good to go.
