My Raptor(ish) Chapter was started in 2018 when knee surgery gave me a lot of free time (and access to some serious painkillers, more on those later...). Loitering around DakkaDakka gave me lots of inspiration, and I think I've improved over the past three years.

- 2018, my first attempt. Veteran Sternguard Sergeant. Remember those painkillers I mentioned? I thought this looked great! I've not even bothered with the base. If anyone has advice on stripping paint from miniatures I'd like to know?

- 2021, latest mini. Terminator Captain. Trying to pay more attention to shading and highlights.

The VI Company provides an airborne force to support the Tactical II - V Companies.

Company Commander

Company Sergeant

2 Platoon Commander

2 Platoon Fire Team 1 Sergeant

2 Platoon Fire Team 1

I've a Stormraven painted (to provide the airborne ability for 2 Platoon) that's painted, but needs basing and detailing, and a Devastator Squad on my paint station. When fundage allows I'll get a Drop Pod for the Devastators, and an Assault squad to go with the Company Commander.

I'll be watching this one with interest. I've always liked the intense pragmatism of the Raptors, and they're well suited for the gritty look that you appear to be developing here.

By way of offering critique - I think they could do with a spot colour somewhere to help add some contrast (I know camouflage is the game of course ) and give them a little pop. But nevertheless, I think these are shaping up to be a great start to something

Oh and as for paint stripping - Biostrip20 seems to be the go to substance .

X Company provide scouting, sniping and covert teams, attached to Tactical and Specialist Companies as required.

Company Commander, a Veteran Captain who looks an awful lot like the Ultramarines Sergeant Telion...

Thanks for the comments, Warpig1815; the contrast colours (shoulder trims, eyes, etc.) show up a little more in the flesh than in the photos (my photography skills are something else that need improvement). Also, having seen your Tomahawk, I'm going to rob the idea of disguising the stand for my Stormraven as a tree...

My part done VI Company Devastators are going on hold for a while as I have at go at the Dakka Painting Challenge for June, Boots on the Ground:

A 5 man Scout Squad, to be added to X Company.

I'm thinking short-range and stabby: silenced bolt pistols & nasty blades for slitting sentries throats...

Great to see you're having a crack at the competition this month FundoMental - and a perfect topic for the entry!

I spy a couple of mold lines on the arms there in case you've missed them The scout mould must be pretty dated by now so I expect there'll be more than a few lurking about that kit

Let me introduce you to Scout Team #5, my entry in the Dakka Painting Challenge Round 76 - Boots on the Ground...

Lead by the taciturn, brooding Sarge, a Veteran so grizzled even he doesn't recall a life before joining the Chapter. Sarge rarely speaks, except to issue absolutely necessary orders. On those rare occasions that Sarge may be forced to speak, Sarge refers to Sarge in the third person. Sarge knows that one day Sarge's service to the Emperor will end in death, but is resolute in intent to take out as many of the Emperors foes as possible in the process.
Spoiler:

The triplets, Brothers Gladius, Pugio and Dave, have served with Sarge for more years and in more Xenos hellholes than they care to recall. What they don't know about using bladed weapons to silently dispatch, disembowel, dismember or otherwise disconcert organic lifeforms could be written on the razor-sharp edge of their ridiculously oversized combat knives.
Spoiler:

Brother Eley is the newest member of ST#5. Although late to the party he's a welcome guest; as everyone knows, when silenced bolt-pistols and keen blades fail an Astartes Shotgun on full auto can really clear the dance floor…
Spoiler:

In their preferred environment...
