Hi All

As my current batch of painting is finally is drawing to a close.
I will finally move to move onto my shadow specters.

I'd like to keep my aspects as close to the GW scheme as possible.

For refernce:

https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/Shadow-Spectres-Aspect-Warrior-Squad

They are currenty primed/ Based with Gws Grey Seer.

I don't really want to blunder about and "test" schemes and recipies because these cost me a bit so I feel like I need to have a solid plan.

I'm quite confident I can do the Crystals and the ribbons.
How would I go about achieving this sort of armour look?

My first instinct is to biel tan wash the armour panels and then chuck on mechanicum standard grey and maybe another highlight.

Potentially contrast apothecary white all over followed by green wash and another layer of gray on top?

Thanks in advance for any tips. If people have examples of their recipies, Images welcome and desired.

I was thinking about this tutorial. But I think the result is a bit to green. The stock scheme seems to be more towards hued gray then green.

However, thanks for the post. My fiancée wants to get into painting and im going to start her using the video recipie. She is responsible for getting me back into Warhammer/ Miniatures. She got me a palenor field set couple years back after she saw me oggling the GW front window whenever we walked past and I told her how I used to be into the hobby but sold stuff of when I was in a hole.
We have worked on gluing those together thus far to teach her the modelling side so it will be great to get her to do the LOTR ghosts in that scheme. Its very easy scheme to do and looks pretty good so hopefully will avoid the "this looks like crap compared to the box" discouragement.

Thin out the Hexwraith Flame with some Lahmian Medium (maybe a 1:1 mix). It will allow the Grey Seer base coat to show through, giving it a less noticeable green tinge.
