It would add so much more tactical options to our CSM lists. And place don't say this is because of lore. CSM have CSM on bikes as a fast attack choice. There are loyalist chaplains who ride bikes. Don't tell me the minute a loyalist chapter turns to chaos, our chaplains who become dark apostles then suddenly magically forgot how to ride a bike....

Release the new 9th edition CSM codex with a new chaos dark apostle on a bike, have it in the codex. And bam, I can assure you it will have tons of sales.

There is no loyalist chaplain on a bike. Not in the way you think. Or at least not any more. They are legacy unit entries. The model is no longer available, even though it is an easy conversion.

There is a primaris loyalist on a bike. But I do not suppose that there are any primaris space marines yet? Do not worry though, the primaris chaplain on bike is less then 3 months old.

If there is any comfort I also miss the X character of bike option.

No model no rules is a GW policy to stop those companies from encroaching on their intellectual property. GW is a modelling company first, so it is against their interest to release rules for models that don't exist.

Making up rules for it is trivial. +2PL +30 pts, replace INFANTRY with BIKE, add +1 T, +1 W and +8 M, add combi-bolter to wargear the model is equipped with. Now you can play with your converted Bike Apostle.

Uz orkz can't put most uv our hq's on bikes, but we used ta be able. Gw's just a git about anyone but them makin models

I was thinking of your in particular when I wrote it. But a lot of people are running an ork on warike. I am unsure if that is the new range of buggies etc, or if it is a legacy unit. It used to be a FW unit or something? I am not sure. But all bike option leaders are sorly missed. Thankfully SM stil have default leader on bike, but no wolf guard on bike. (I do not remember vanilla charaters names.)

RIP biky models. We miss you.

It’s even worse than just the bike. There is no jump pack or terminator options for the dark apostle either. At least it’s not as bad as say the autarch who lost almost every bit of flavor available.

There is also no model for an Exalted Champion, nor a Sorcerer with Jump Pack, yet both of those have rules.

No Model No Rules is not only stupid and harmful to the lore/modeling side of the hobby, it it also inconstantly applied. Which makes it even more frustrating.

I'd prefer Terminator armour as an option to a bike.

This question fits into the category of missing pieces for Chaos.

Dark Apostles, Sorcerers, Masters of Possession, Warpsmiths - their usefulness suffers from the fact they can't keep up with the units they're supposed to buff.

It seems like an obvious oversight for GW. There are all these HQs that could substantially expand the tactical / strategic options available for the faction. None of them possess anything beyond the simplest delivery options, transports and footslogging have disadvantages that limit their effectiveness on the table.

Would love to see bikes / jump packs / terminator armor available for each. The likelihood that ever happens is low.

There's not model on sale. Simple as that.

If gw designers design one it will get added to codex. Rules are designed to fit miniatures. Rule desgners don't go around asking designers to do model for x.

It's all about what miniature design department does.

Well we all know the reason. No model no rules. It is frustrating as I would love a MoP with a jump pack to keep up with my daemon engines. I always thought GW is missing out on $$ by not having rules for all the old character upgrades (jump pack alt weapons etc) then sell an HQ upgrade pack with sprus with all the upgrades. I would buy like four of those.

They forgot how when they turned to Chaos. Forge the narrative!

Have you seen “modern” loyalist options? Lots of legacy options slowly being phased out. And new stuff is just what’s on the box.

This is not a Imperium vs. others, it’s GW vs. hobbiests.

You forgot to highlight the issue.

And it's preciscly that. GW overly marketing marines to the detriment of all other factions and to marine players is the same issue.
GW releasing rules peacemeal and clearly cut content type of deal is the same issue.

It all goes back to the Chapter House Law suit that GW lost. GW went after CH due to them making kits and actually calling them what they were in the codex.

They lost the case because GW didn't actually make the model themselves and never had. Since then GW has gone hard on the No model No rules bit.

The example often given to show inconsistency is the GK Grandmaster in Dreadknight but that is a bit misleading. You can paint the kit as a Grandmaster.

The Brother Captain is just an old standard GK Terminator. It's like the Custodes Captains which are just the helmless head option.

Well there is no GK brotherhood champion, GK librarian, Chapter Master in termintor armour etc. It is , I think , assumed that people will just build them out of the termintor and power armoured model boxs.

Honestly, the Dark Apostle has been completely mishandled from the start. All of the above points are valid, but I feel like it's a unit that needs a ground-up rework.

Look at the Word Bearer's trilogy. The Dark Apostles are a NIGHTMARE of chaotic awesomeness. The table top version? Well .... not so much ...

The current iteration is probably the best so far, but that's not saying much ...

Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug

No model, no rules. GW isn't a game company that puts out models for use in its games, it's a model company that puts out rules only to the extent that they promote buying GW models.
