Hi Guys,
Can somebody recommend me a good Matt black primer spray which is available in the EU?
I tried army painter, but it is everything but matt and I am not satisfied with the surface either.
I really miss the Colour Forge matt black spray as I cannot get it since the Brexit, as the rules makes importing it almost impossible...
Thank you in advance.

I don't know if it's available in the EU, but Krylon's flat black primer works well.

Hello,
Thank you for you answer. I found a Krylon black primer. Is this what do you use?

Does it have to be a rattle can? Or do you have an airbrush

I have airbrush too so that is also an option.

Then I would look at green stuff world primers. I use them and think they are very good. The apply well through an airbrush and hairy brush.
They are based in Spain so shouldn’t be problem if your in the EU

Vallejo black PU primer looks pretty similar to the right-hand picture, I'd say that's also worth a look.

The Krylon one you found is one of the brands I use,
look for the Ultra Flat variety if you can find it
and test the can, as I've noticed slight differences in them (different production run?)

Could you go over it with a very matte varnish and achieve similar results?

There's a couple different versions, but all of them work reasonably well. Ultra flat provides the best painting surface, but Fusion withstands handling better. In the end you kinda have to try them all and see which one works best for you.

Halford's Plastic Primer, never had any issues and no worries over which variant to buy.

Hello, probably would give the same effect but I am not sure I want to put varnish on a primer and then paint over the varnish. I have never tried that at least
Automatically Appended Next Post: Thank you everyone, I will look into them and see which one I could get easily... I should try airbrush priming too but I am just learning everything again after many years break...
