Can't wait for this! This suggests that other TWW exclusive factions such as Vampire Coast could very well be making an appearance in the Old World and to me this is very very good news!

It's not strictly true that the Vampire Coast was a TWW exclusive, they had rules in WD 306, back in 6th edition.
I am *very* excited about Cathay and Kislev getting full lists, though!

Yeah, I remember that. It was hardly a fleshed out faction though. I loved the rules themselves. I am unbelievably stoked for these new dragon characters and for some Depth Guard and Necrofex Colossus models

Only skimmed the article, but it seems to be old news which is being misconstrued. Per the Warcom reveal, there are tabletop rules for everything.... for 8th edition WHFB.

Hmm, you're right. I was thinking that they'd confirmed Cathay for the new edition, but I've just re-read the blog post and it just ends with "keep your eyes out for updates on the further development of the Bretonnia, Kislev, the (divided) Empire, and more as it progresses," which isn't at all promising re. Cathay.
It would be pretty hard to justify narratively, I suppose, especially if they're focusing more on the Old World. Thematically it fits very well with an increased focus on the human nations, though.

Yeah I cant quite remember where I read it but GW working with CA basically built army lists for Kislev/Cathay in 8th edition rules as a way to help the programmers come up with how the faction should play. So there is technically a 8th Edition Cathay Army book somewhere in GW HQ that we will probably never see.

Has anyone tried the homebrew Cathay rules from Warhammer Armies Project?
https://warhammerarmiesproject.blogspot.com/
I've used the Norse (Norsca sans chaos) army book from the blog, and it seems to work fine (if a bit bland). I know they have a Cathay army book out there, but I haven't gotten around to trying it yet.
