I've bought a GW "small" base brush and I just don't see the use of the thing. From the very first the end splayed out in all directions making it impossible to control. I'm trying to paint some old citadel 1990s stuff and it's impossible to do a decent base coat keeping the different colour zones separate and there's all sorts of fine detail - belts, gloves, small bits of clothes etc that the thing would be impossibly big for even if it wasn't splayed out all over the place. Eventually I want to move onto LOTR miniatures (I've got the Fellowship which I want to give a try) and they are even smaller - the men are tiny and as for the hobbits! Surely this GW base brush is just rubbish - far too big and doesn't keep a decent enough point. I'm left wondering why they even sell them. Please tell me I'm not mad - you really can't use these brushes for what they're supposedly designed for can you?
