Hello people,

So with the new two player starter set being plastic, I am tempted to give a try to this game (being a hobbyist first, I chose my games according to the materials and the aesthetics of the models I'll work on).

However, I found few batreps and I don't have the patience for the endless banter of the players during the videos (I'm getting old and impatient, I know, I know), which distract me from the actual game.

I'd like to have your feedback on the gameplay of this intriguing skirmish game and how it would compare to let's say a game like Malifaux (duration of the game, balance of the factions, how complex is it to learn and introduce to new players, is it more for casual or competitive cheesers, etc.).

Thank you for your time and answers !

Iv played A single game of WWE. I found it very swingly and your minions tend to get mowed down quickly (as does your opponents minions).

However, other than the setting and some funny models, honestly i cant see what its USP is meant to be. Malifaux is much much better, mature, has a much bigger player base and is easier to get hold of (from a UK PoV)

Hope that helps

It is deffo on the more casual side, cus the damage level is quite brutal. Having one of your models beeing completely murdered before you have even activated it a single time is normal, so a higer level of thinking plus a table with above avrage terrain is needed. it is allso a very open model setting and mixes historical characters and fantasy so that might put off some players.
You can have cowbois vs indians, civil war reenactment, "save" humanity from undead, heck you can even to a limit replay the movie cowboys and aliens, as there is an alien faction in WWX too. Or you could simply have a pure wacky match where Abe Lincon faces off Tesla or Eifel. and that is just whitin WWX, you allso have a very new cross compatible game called Lost World Exodus for even more wierd factions and minis.

The model range for the whole game consists of 80% resin models, very little is plastic. everything is 32mm scale, so nice and comfy to paint. I was going to jump on this game, then you know what, happend.
Rules are free digital so just go donwnload and read them, all models uses statcards, but they are digital print only! as they undergo balance adjustments 1-2 times per year. there will be physical stat cards inlcuded in faction starter boxes, but they are naturaly outdated.
Having seen some battreps i would not say it is a complex game. you can prolly learn the basics in 2-3 games and then take it futher from there, as said this game is more towards the casual side of the scale and it suits it.

Try and see if you have patience to watch this battrep, the important stuff starts at 8:10 mark. Only thing to note is that they use the old 2p box in that vid that no longer is avalible.

I've played a game last Sunday and had a blast! Already ordered the new starter set (as I want to play as Union). Game checks a lot of boxes I have when looking for a wargame.

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion & X-Wing: CIS / WWX: Union

Glad to hear, just remember folks, that it is not only a new 2p boxm but a new edition of the rules too, keep that in mind if you prefer physical rules instead of digital, we are now on the 3rd edition.
